Really rooting for this kid.

Oden put up 19 points, 23 rebounds and four blocks in 17 minutes, an otherworldly performance in another world on Sunday. The Chinese league is not the NBA, of course — this is the same league Stephon Marbury dominated and players such as Steve Francis, Gilbert Arenas and Tracy McGrady made stops at — but still, that statline in a 79-76 win reminds of the optimism that once followed Oden wherever he went.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Wasn't like he sucked, he just couldn't stay healthy.

The play in the video does not show much, except for the refs giving him the D Wade treatment on an obvious charge.

Any extended footage to look at?

Hope he does well in the league where players with deflated NBA dreams can showcase their inflated stats.

Lance Thomas played in the CBA, and said his time there allowed him to work on his offensive game, but Oden's issue is about his health-lets see how he holds up.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I'm sorry, but he did the lowering shoulder foul (that Eddy Curry was famous for) and dunked on a 5 foot 11 guy. The wind would have provided more resistance.

LOL - Is he in China by choice or because he can't get an NBA contract? No team would even give him a league min contract here?!
