That's great. KP has been so good so far and this isn't even the best he can play yet. Imagine if his teammates were better at getting him the ball!!!

Awesome! Jahlil Okafor's -5.89 real plus/minus ranks him 413th out of 413 players in the league! He's next to last in regular plus minus per game at -12.

Okafor isnt the worst player in the league but he and Melo together would of been an inefficient nightmare for the Knicks.

Oh yeah, I don't think he truly is the worst but every metric does indicate he's hurting his team. He still has nice potential but he shouldn't be anywhere near the ROY conversations right now.

I am floored by how much better Porzingis has gotten from his Seville tape. I never thought his rebounding would improve this fast. The Knicks might have a 20 points 12 rebound 3 block player by year 3

His rebounding is awesome, something you immediately notice when watching a game. KP is a huge pick for us. Can't wait to see how his game grows.

Seems like we should measure team success by wins and loses.....but rather KPs growth as an NBA player.

I can somewhat agree here. This team is what it is this season. We have obviously improved a lot and have a chance to compete for a playoff spot, but this team has a ceiling this year as we aren't ready for that next step. But our team success next year and beyond entirely relies on the development of porzingis.

As some have noted...KP's development on the court will have a significant influence on what future FAs decide to do when considering the Knicks as a final destination.

The same will be true if Grant emerges later in the season.

I've been saying since the start of the regular season...KP is our best player on the Knicks RIGHT NOW.

Not in 3 years, he already is our best 2 way player, best all around player, best defender, best jumpshooter especially from 15 feet and in. His FG% and TS% will improve with time, and he's already figured out the stupid foul disease that plagued him early.

Really, he just needs to grow old. The post game, strength, and stamina issues will all come as he gets experience and fills out his frame.

Carmelo is our best player right now, any NBA coach still plans around containing him first and foremost. KP will get there very soon, and he is our best player on defense, but in typically knicks fan fashion, can't underrate Melo while overrating our rookies. not yet anyway.

This year is probably the only year I will judge the Knicks more by their growth than wins and loses. How about you?

LOL

when I agree with you in principal. I could care less about wins / losses this year (aside from how good our pick is that we gift toronto). I care how we grow and it kills me that we can't realize how good our roster can be since our guards are so bad and creating.

Our Guards: We can't beat the press. We can't use picks properly. We don't get to the line.

Our kids can't grow properly this way.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

If KP continues his growth, Grant comes on during the second half, and either Seraphin or Williams (Too much to expect both to do this.)become consistent in that the best they've shown us so far becomes their norm by the end of the year, this will be seen as a good year for the franchise, IMO.
