Hey i thought of this up at work.....i haven't gotten around to checking salaries yet...

GS trades Dampier and gets Tim Thomas

Indiana trades Artest and gets Dampier

Knicks trade Tim Thomas and gets Artest.

Of course there may have to be some tweaking and a sign and trade involved but what do you guys think?

(I still like the idea of getting Vince but this is a cool alternative)

I don't like it. I prefer TT over Artest. TT will fit with Marbury next year and Artest isn't able to guard taller 3's, no matter how good they say he is defensively. Also, Artest is too crazy to come home to NY and handle it.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Are you people insane? You do realize you are trading a 14pts, 4.5 rebounds, a game, awful defender who can't guard anybody, who is a soft pu@ssy for an allstar SF who is a superb defender and rebounds and scores more then the Gazy? Get a clue folks, if you can get Artest for Tiny Tim we should be throwing a parade.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

That definitely would be a good trade for us, however, the Warriors would never do that trade. They would rather let Dampier go then take a large contract like that.

GS has no need for KT. They have said it. They have Troy Murphy.

Artest is insane in the membrane, but an allstar caliber. Gazy's playoff speach has made him for now not very popular with his teamates, let alone around the league.

I would rather have Ron Ron than TT.

I am not insane, just hopeful that Thomas will blossom under the guidance of Isiah and become a consistent 18 and 8 guy. I know I saw Artest implode in the biggest game of the Pacers season in 2004 this year vs Detroit with the hit on Rip Hamilton. He cost them that series. Also, he wasn't able to stop Rip the whole series, in spite of his great defensive rep and he shot horribly the whole series. So the upside on TT may never happen but I don't think Artest can ever be trusted to come through in the clutch.
