So do you think we can really win consistently with a 13 man rotation

The one thing I distinctively can remember in fishers first comments to the media when he was hired was that he intends on playing his entire roster and that he sees no reason in not giving guys some kind of minutes. He clearly stated that he never understood why the last 2 or 3 guys on the bench don't deserve some kind of minutes. (when i have extra time i'll search for the comments)

whenever fisher is asked about his rotation of certain players, or why he goes so deep into his bench, his answer is either, "WE WERE LOOKING FOR A SPARK" or "I don't want guys to get too rusty" (those were his words in regards to playing sasha last night)

If you look at every single game fisher has coach, you will notice that 90% of the time he is using his entire roster, win, lose or draw. It's like BLACK HAWK DOWN, no one gets left behind, only this isn't Somalia.

Then there's quite a few posters here that are under the impression that fisher is experimenting with different line ups to find the right mix. Which is the biggest set of hoarse shhht i ever heard, because if that were the case you would stick with the same rotation that won you the previous game (like a good coach), not throw a whole new line up in just to give guys a good sweat.

Fisher looks great when he can throw Lance, admundson, or seraphin (15 to 20 minutes)in one night and they give you an unexpected 12 clutch points. But when you start jerking guys around giving them sporadic minutes, their confidence and rhythm will slowly disappear (See grant, see dwill, see sasha, see lance, see seraphin, see quin), and inconsistency sets in like a bipolar bitch.

A month of training camp (6 preseason games and at least 2 dozen practices), 15 regular season games and a healthy roster(for the most part) and you're no closer to figuring out your bench then you were in AUGUST.

Hubie Brown had some regular season success playing 12 guys when he coach memphis, only coach i know who did that. The difference is, he played the player the same amount of minutes every night, he also played full court defense and ran as much as he could to get the other team tired

But fishers philosophy will always be to give guys minutes no matter what, are you cool with this?

Genuinely not sure if you're arguing Fisher should have a shorter rotation or not.

I mean ever winning team as a set line up of 9 to 10 guys, so yes i do favor a shorter rotation, but in a small way, I understand fishers point of playing everyone, The problem i have is that if your going to play everyone, do what hubie did, use it to your advantage.

He doesn't do that, melo is playing killer minutes, kp went from 25 to damn near 40, there's zero change of pace coming from your bench, and the chemistry or lack thereof is suffering because of it.

This last part is where I don't follow.

Knicks have won 6 of 9 and 4 of 5.

What is the nuts and bolts of your premise that chemistry is suffering?

I know I've commented on this ad infinitum...I don't think he knows what our final rotation will end up being... so I guess I'm one of the horse **** guys. The fact that I seem to like the smell of horse and cow manure in something for another time.

Why shouldn't he adjust if this or that guy is not doing it and another player is a better fit.

If Williams and KOQ were playing like they did early on this would be less of an issue now, but they are not. If you want Grant to play consistent minutes but he is not playing consistently well...what do you do?

KP getting more minutes because he has become more valuable to the team- not to hard to understand. I figured he would be getting 20-25MPG the first half of the season and it would increase- he obviously feels KP can handle the minutes and perhaps he figures a fatigued KP later in the game is still better than anyone else he has.

Guys earn time through performing well...hardly a revelation. I think he would love to have a standard rotation and tweak it every now an then, but he does not have that luxury at this time.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

The rotation is eventually going to resolve itself. I really don't have a huge problem with Fish except for the playing of Sasha ahead of Jerian last game. I think he should've kept the normal rotation and only put Sasha in if Jerian was ineffective. The bench chemistry was very good to start the year and even tho it tailed off I think Fish should've stuck with it.

I can't kill him for taking a look at what he could get from Seraphin and Lou. KOQ isn't owed minutes and neither is DWill but I think those guys do make some sense in the rotation. It's really tough for a coach to deal with his bench when the team isn't getting consistent production. LOADS of time left to settle on a rotation tho.

Are you sure of that? Fisher doesn't strike me as one who understands the importance of continuity. He did the same thing last season. Ideally we need an 11 men rotation

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

When did Fisher consistently have 10-11 healthy bodies with legitimate NBA talent?

I like to think Fisher is trying to build up trade value for some of the unneeded depth on the team. If the goal is to make some guys look better so they can be used as traded bait, or throw ins for other trades to make them work (with the knicks being compensated for helping)...... I wouldn't be mad.

Phil and Fisher seem to be on the same page on these things and I truly doubt Fisher would be this gung ho on getting guys minutes if Phil and him didn't have a reason.

The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away

Fisher is a schitsophreninic coach. I do t believe he has it in him to use an 11 men rotation

What is your belief based on? When in 2014-2015 did Fisher consistently have a rotation of healthy, NBA players he could count on nightly given you said he did the same thing last year?

So do you think we can really win consistently with a 13 man rotation
