The one thing I distinctively can remember in fishers first comments to the media when he was hired was that he intends on playing his entire roster and that he sees no reason in not giving guys some kind of minutes. He clearly stated that he never understood why the last 2 or 3 guys on the bench don't deserve some kind of minutes. (when i have extra time i'll search for the comments)
whenever fisher is asked about his rotation of certain players, or why he goes so deep into his bench, his answer is either, "WE WERE LOOKING FOR A SPARK" or "I don't want guys to get too rusty" (those were his words in regards to playing sasha last night)
If you look at every single game fisher has coach, you will notice that 90% of the time he is using his entire roster, win, lose or draw. It's like BLACK HAWK DOWN, no one gets left behind, only this isn't Somalia.
Then there's quite a few posters here that are under the impression that fisher is experimenting with different line ups to find the right mix. Which is the biggest set of hoarse shhht i ever heard, because if that were the case you would stick with the same rotation that won you the previous game (like a good coach), not throw a whole new line up in just to give guys a good sweat.
Fisher looks great when he can throw Lance, admundson, or seraphin (15 to 20 minutes)in one night and they give you an unexpected 12 clutch points. But when you start jerking guys around giving them sporadic minutes, their confidence and rhythm will slowly disappear (See grant, see dwill, see sasha, see lance, see seraphin, see quin), and inconsistency sets in like a bipolar bitch.
A month of training camp (6 preseason games and at least 2 dozen practices), 15 regular season games and a healthy roster(for the most part) and you're no closer to figuring out your bench then you were in AUGUST.
Hubie Brown had some regular season success playing 12 guys when he coach memphis, only coach i know who did that. The difference is, he played the player the same amount of minutes every night, he also played full court defense and ran as much as he could to get the other team tired
But fishers philosophy will always be to give guys minutes no matter what, are you cool with this?
