The more we play in the system, the more DWill looks out of place.
I agree with this. The weird part is I thought DWill looked OK at times in the Triangle during the preseason. Not sure what is up with him.
I'm telling you, he is not the same player, and i'm blaming the coaching staff for that. We didn't take our first FT until in came in the game, we never even attempted a fast break(that drew a foul) until he came in the game. They obviously want him to focus on other things, but he's just not seeing enough minutes to have any impact at all.
Well, a couple of things. First, Dwill has always been known as a slow learner, right? That's his rep and there is no doubt that many things just don't click overnight. I am wondering if both the nature of the preseason as well as the opponents in the preseason lead to an environment in which DWill thrives: fast paced, not much D, helter-skelter.
Second, if you are willing and wanting to give DWill more minutes to work things out, are you also willing to put winnable games on the line? Are you willing to sacrifice losing games in place of giving DWill more minutes?
Third, for all of his FT shooting and offense, what do you think of his defense? Are you at all holding DWill accountable for his poor defensive performance and why are you willing to overlook this aspect of his performance?
