Playing pretty well at Westchester--you always like the 50% shooting and playmaking--that is the way to the NBA. I havent seen any games but from the boxscore looks like Dejuan Summers has been a stud.

Bro, can you please provide links. This starts to get old. But thanks for the mention.

Are we talking Trice or Summers here?

For me, Trice yes.
Summers no.

I'm curious about Trice. And Summers.

Who is coaching in Westchester these days? Wasn't there a shakeup there at the end of last season? Seems like the team is already better than last season.

You can only dress 13 in the NBA.

Gonna take at least two if not 3 injuries to the back court (Knicks left it at 14 even with Afflalo hurt) to see Trice on a 10-day, when 10-days become available. And even then he might not see the court.

too small a sample. The D league has had little time for practice and implementing defensive schemes.

Summers has scored 28 and 30 points on a high percentage. Will be interesting to see what stats he puts up. In summer league and pre season he was ordinary though.
Trice scored 19 and 21 points on 50% shooting, with 7 assists in both contests.
Trice did look like a player in summer league and pre season.

In summer league, there were a few times Trice stood out. But there were a lot of times I forgot he was on the floor.

Then again, Galloway looked off in SL, too, so I'm not gonna put too much on that one week. I think a lot of the sets we were running favored bigs and wings like Ndour and Early.

Have watched both games and posted about it in the W Knicks Roster thread.

Summers is the "bad" Melo for that team...seems to be allowed to shoot whenever he wants to. He's played hard, though. Might be a man among boys thing...not sure. Don't think he fits on the NY Knicks, but it looks to me like he could get signed somewhere else, and seems to be making a case for it.

Did a Trice thread in pre-season. He just looks like he knows what he's doing all the time. Seems to start slow and comes on later in the game- has done this in both games. Does not have a classic looking J, but he gets it off quickly and is accurate midrange and deep. Uses picks well to get off his midrange shot, and he sees the court very well and makes the right passes. Clever finishing at the basket and has a left and right hand, but he has missed a number of shots on his drives, if I recall correctly. A nice little player, and although I think they list him at around 175lbs, he has some strength and a good base. I still remember him boxing out Tyler Hansbrough during pre-season. Does not make a ton of mistakes, moves well without the ball, and looks comfortable so far.

If Trice continues to look good, I would not mind signing him to a non-guaranteed contract and just letting him continue to play at Westchester (assuming we can do this), since I think he would be wasted sitting on the bench at the NBA level.

Yeah, you can sign a player and then send them to D-League, not sure about the intricacies of it but that would be a nice gesture. Then again, you always want to have an open roster spot to give those guys hope down there. I would imagine his agent will always give us right of first refusal should a team make an offer. A bit early for that I'm guessing.

Interesting about Summers, really don't want that (though he didn't show selfishness from what I remember.) Let's see if he can continue this torrid scoring...

One of the Westchester announcers mentioned Summers as a "Melo" for Westchester player, so I guess I am piggy backing on what they said. Has not played bad at all, but he is not afraid of putting it up.

They are an entertaining team, though. This guy Crawford looks and plays like a Tasmanian Devil out there on the court and is a lot of fun to watch. Thanasis, even though he still shows his shortcomings...is playing hard and seems to really love the game.

Good show so far.

Crawford is excited. This is his chance to be near Melo again.
