Two things that really stood out

Jose Calderon is not a NBA player

2

The refs were giving atl every call like they were the home team
I mean my god. It was an embarrassment in terms of calls ... Jeff Teague can't touch, milsap can't touch,Hartford can't touch.

On the other hand KP man handled and hacked, Melo I don't think man handled and hacked can even do it justice. O'quinn can grab 5 strait offensive rebounds have a hawk on his arms and no whistle.. Jarian Grant was almost as obvious as Melo Teague and Dennis were hacking the **** out of him and when he drove in for a lay up got tossed after contact with no whistle ..

Is Melo really that hated by the refs because the way he plays he should be going to the line just as much if not more then Durant, curry, harden,Teague, I mean wow it's bad and I feel for Melo that's not fair.

Also as a opposing coach you can't tell me that they don't see that their getting a unfair advantage and and not to tell them to keep hacking until the whistle starts blowing. Cause if I were the Hawks coach last night that's exactly what I would say d up hard and hack the ****tt out of anyone that's in the paint or going to try and get to the paint

Again we were the home team where are the calls coming from. The whistle needs to blow evenly for both teams

I'm usually never one to put the blame on the refs... But the calls were obviously pro atl.

I do think that NY did not get a favorable whistle but what are you going to do.

Melo problem is he looks to engage contact. Those other guys do a good job engaging contact. See the difference? No, neither do I. This has gone on for a while and this is a job of the coach to call out the refs in the media and go to bat for his player.

It's true that Atlanta got favorable calls all night, unfairly so. However that wasn't the reason the Knicks lost. Atlanta 1) is a very good team, better than the Knicks right now by a lot and 2) has fast, elusive and great shooting guards who our starting backcourt (sasha and jose) straight up cannot guard. Our other defenders rotating to help the instant blow-bys left holes in the defense that Atlanta exploited masterfully through ball movement.
The ref stuff evens out in the long run and is not worth harping on.

I defiantly feel you there Jose and Sasha don't stand a chance on 99 percent of the nba's back courts most of all Jose, that guy can't guard a rock.

Everyone should be prepared for a huge game for wall and beal if Jose is starting . J wall will have a field day and it wouldn't shock me if the score with 8 minutes to go in the first was Washington 18 to Nyk 4

If this happens Jose's days at starting pg should be completely over .

perfectly stated!

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I think this team has defensive potential but a game against the Hawks can make them look really bad. Don't put too much weight on this one game tho. Adjustments will be made and the Knicks defensive chemistry will improve. I doubt we'll go the whole season with Jose n Sasha starting at guard.

I also thought we didn't get a fair whistle as usual. I do think the Knicks needed more dribble penetration and to use more screens. They've stopped running the drag screens and PnR plays they used in preseason. They went back to being overly predictable in running the Triangle. Teams will try to disrupt the motion and play the passing lanes so we have to keep them honest by giving the defense a dose of screens and dribble drives to get them off balance.

Lets hope fatigue from playing the night before was also a factor, otherwise it's going to be a long season!

Personally, I don't think the Hawks are that good a team- they had an epic slump last season after a hot start, and since then they've lost Carroll and gained Tim Jr.

I just rewatched the Atlanta game.
