1) he's earned it
2) I believe the Bucks are starting Middleton at SG. Maybe that changes with no Giannis tonight but Middleton is huge to playing SG
3) Doesnt hurt the rotation much, your second speedy unit of Grant, Gallow, DWill, KOQ stays intact.

Maybe Sasha plays well.. its why we got him, but I wouldnt mind seeing Early get a good run based on what he's shown

I would personally like to see this. However, I doubt it will happen.

That would be interesting, but I also doubt it will happen.

Melo has to go 8-10 in the first quarter or something so the 2nd unit can solidify the early lead. If he struggles, we're going to be playing catch up all game. Kidd knows Melo's tendencies already, and am sure he'll game plan for it.

That all said, Jabari, Giannis, and OJ Mayo are all out, so on paper, the Knicks should win this one handily.

As far as starting Cleanthony...not yet. Let's see if the proposed lineup works first.

I was thinking of a different kind of smoke.

I thought it meant that the team had to come out smoking" from the start and set the tone for the game.

is it too early for a "must win approach" because with those prime players out, like you said, we should handle them pretty convincing

I have much lower expectation for this season so starting guys like early for future growth would be my objective.

That whole 'must win' thing is kind of gray. It means different things to different people. To me, any time you play a division rival, no matter how early in the season it is, it's a must win. But the Bucks aren't in our division anyway. Personally I think the Knicks should approach every game at the start of the season as must wins, even though the EC is still weaker than the WC. Some teams don't have to worry about that as much because they know they can make noise once they get into the playoffs, no matter what place they're in. It would really help out the Knicks a whole lot, psychologically and with everything else, if they got off to a really decent start to this season. They don't HAVE to win game 1, but it sure would be nice.

In general, I don't think I would want him guarding 2s, and the quickness he uses at PF is negated, too.

Not that excited about starting Early, though you may use him at 2 if others don't work out.

Figure that Sasha starts and he gets pulled for Gallo if he is not working out.

D Will is who should be the starter. If not, bring in Grant
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

that would be a big mistake. he is lost on defense, and no... blocks do not count.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

its fine. To me this is exactly what he's here for. Have a couple great games, play over his head and get replaced when the starter comes back. Kurt Thomas, Sheed, Camby.. that kind of role.

Where are you guys getting this from? The Bucks are a deep team and have good players even on their bench so i can't see how you would think just cause J.Parker who they played without most of last season, The Greak Freak and OJ Mayo are out we should be the better team. They have a good team and we'll need more than just Melo to be on his game to beat them.

I'd rather have Gallo starting at the 2 spot cause he has good defense and offense but his defense will be needed playing next to Calderon but i'm sure it will be Vujicic starting at the 2 spot. No way in h**l am i starting Early at any spot.

Start Early tonight
