In my opinion today's decision by Kobe is going to affect the Knicks. Should Kobe sign with the Clippers, the Clippers don't match Phoenix for Q-Rich and Crawford will almost definitely become a Knick. If Kobe re-signs with the Lakers, the Clippers match Phoenix for Q-Rich and suddenly the Suns are in the market again. Although Kobe signing with the Lakers doesn't guarantee that the Knicks will fail to get Crawford, it will put much more pressure on our team to get a deal done.

I think the only reason the Suns are trying to get Q is so they can move JJ to SF and move Marion for a center....You are right...they may make a hard run at Craw, but that will cause the Bulls to look twice at the Knicks offer....lose Craw for nothing or basically trade for Frankie....or match the 40-45 million he might get from PHX

Its true. A lot of things out there are pretty connected right now and one move can mean a wave of other ones as a domino effect. You can also say that after the Bulls tried to trade for Kobe now they will give the Knicks deal a second thought. We'll see. Dampier is also in the trading game so who knows what will really happen...

Right. Now after what joec32033 had to say, I'm not even sure if this strengthens or weakens our position. The free agent landscape has definitely changed. I'm eager to see what will happen next.
