Nice game for Sweets, Hawkins, and Ariza had another nice all-around game.

what i like is that sweets get fouled a lot (and fouls a lot too, which is not good) and is a pretty good FT shooter right now. That could be really useful to us.

Yeah, he got fouled a lot! Nice to see that he made most of them. A great night with 19pts. and 14 rebs. He did everything except shooting a three. And didn't have that many fouls considering other games.

Hawkins had a nice game too with 18 pts. Would be nice to see and read more from him.

Trevor with 8, 8 and 4 is ok in 28 mins. It looks like the coach is trying to give everyone significant minutes to show their talents, or maybe it was that the game was already a rout. The only one with 30+ minutes was Sweetney. Even Marbury had more time than before and had a nice game.

Sweetney had 6 fouls. He's got to learn to stay in the game. He would have had a way more than monster stat line if it weren't for his foul woes.

sweetneys numbers looked great, but 8/8/4 for ariza to me is great, that shows me that he can do a lot of things, and to get 8 boards from the SF spot is tremendous... If he could give us that on a consistent basis, the knicks will be much better...

I hate to do this (Yeah Right!), but Ariza sure plays like Kirilenko. A player that can score when needed and he fills up the stat line. His assists is pretty impressive.

a player that can fill many holes (points, bounds, assists...) and do all the little things while coming off the bench would be invaluable for us.

Don't forget that you can't foul out in Summer League games (every foul over a players limit is a technical foul). Sweets still got more minutes than any other Knick. I don't think the fouls affected his stat line for this game, but when the foul out rule is in effect - it'll sure be a problem if he can't keep from fouling.

Also, these fouls are coming against rooks and wannabe's, not guys with the most polished NBA moves. These fouls are a BIG concern, IMO, and something that must addressed right away. It's been a problem in each of the three games.

the FT attempts is the most important thing to sweets game. he knows how to use his body and nobody can stop him. he will be able to get his shot off everytime and at the worst case, players will have to foul.

one play from last season summed up how sweetney showed signs of possibly being a dominating post player: in the playoffs last season, sweetney was in the post, being guarded by kenyon. he just backed him down under the basket and kenyon couldn't stop him. all he could do was foul him and prevent him from putting up a shot. that's going to happen alot next season.

One of Sweetney's best attributes is drawing fouls and getting to the line. He did that a ton in college because of his wide frame and post moves. He can be at least a 70-75% free throw shooter in this league based off how he shot it in his college career.

I think he can be a 20-12 guy once he really figures it out, and especially if he nails his free throws.
