Very impressive- the key for him will be mental stamina. He says he motivates himself by thinking about people hurting his mom, not sure if that will work the whole 82 game season, but I do like him.

Yep...also noticed....

- Okafor is avg. 2 boards in 2 game at about 22 mins per game
- Mudiay has shot 5-18, 7-14 and 2-11 in his first 3 games. I think that is about 32% shooting???
- S-Johnson went for 26 first game and 12 2nd
- D-Russell looks very suspect. Poor 1st game -- injured in 4 mins of 2nd game
- Towns put up great stats in 1st game but was also a negative - 25 I believe

Stat of pre-season in last nights Warrior / Portland game.

In a 17 point Portland win -- Allan Crabbe puts up 25 and has a +/- of I believe +45 (don't recall seeing that big of a +/- before)

Looks like Mudiay is also averaging more turnovers than assists so far in 3 games, in addition to his atrocious shooting.

No doubt, he'll probably make all rookie team due to vast usage, minutes, and opportunities in Denver. That said I feel much better with KP6's 3 year plan, then being stuck with having a shoot first turnover prone point guard who can't shoot for 5 years.

Like most rooks, he will need time...but I wouldn't consider him a shoot first PG from what I've seen so far.

Remember a Tweet he did a while ago, touting what an underrated passer Bird was- not many watching Bird clips are thinking about his assists. I would call him a pass first PG at this point- maybe that changes when he feels more comfortable with his shot, or maybe the poor shooting will make you think he's taking more shots than he really is.

He also has to establish a jumper, or defenders will lay back and limit his penetration. I know that's how I would defend him at this point-challenge him to hit the J. Pre-season is a good time to show he has a shot, so if I was his coach I would encourage him to shoot jumpers when open- but if he can't hit the J now, you know guards will be laying off him the start of the season.

No doubt, it will take him time to determine what he really is.

Just the small sample size so far in 3 pre-season games. He's the leading shot attempter at 14 a game!!!

No one should attempt 14 shots shooting at 32% a game.

Small sample size I know, but he's a shoot first guard so far that's averaging more turnovers than assists.

Denver's problem(solution?) to have anyways. Just glad with what we have is all.

Don't know what the jumper to drive ratio is though. As I said, if I was a coach I would have him take the J whenever he has a good shot in pre-season.

Out of the gate Bobby Portis has been the best NBA rookie early on--another 20-11 game off the bench. Hes no joke at one point I had him as high as the 3rd ranked prospect. He plays very hard and he has a nice jumpshot. He might be better in the nBA than college at 6-11 250

I was watching the Bulls a few days ago..He actually looks bigger and thicker than 250..He definitely put on weight and it fits his frame...He has a big man's game...

That Arkansas team was so free-style that he got lost at times.

I watched a number of their games last year, and I was always amazed when they failed to get him more involved in the offense.

Have not seen him in pre-season, and don't know the kind of shots he's been taking, but it would seem that he's had some shooting problems based on the numbers I see.

He's a pretty good defensive player and if I remember correctly, he has some pretty quick feet for a big man. I definitely could have lived with the Knicks taking him at 19, and he seems to be a good fit for our offense. He's also got the type of big butt that Phil admires so much.

Did we bring him in for a workout?

Can't complain about our draft, though...although I'm sure that some around here can...and will.

So far it looks like the three mid-first round steals in this past draft are Portis, Stanley Johnson, and Jerian Grant.

Myles Turner is going to be VERY good. Trey Lyles has been good so far. So far Justice Winslow is a disappointment. Obviously this is cameo stuff and this takes years to grade--but you like what you see out of some players. Oh yeah Deangelo Russell wow scary??? Maybe were lucky we got pick 4 as long as Kristaps increases his milk intake for his frikin bones.

Grant was no steal, we had to give up THJR for him..Tim didn't fit last year's style of play because of the demands of the position..But Tim is more athletic than the two's on our squad...The book isn't written on Tim yet...

Russell was my first choice but Im very happy we got Porzingis. Happy we didnt draft Winslow, I know its early but he looks like a role player to me.

Kristaps will have to grow into his body at his normal rate. If they play him no more than 20 minutes a game he'll flourish and help the team at the same time. And with our depth it will work out well for everybody. He should not be rushed because the end product could be incredible!
