You can add Denver's draft and stash big, Jokic in that group too. I wonder what Stein, Okafor, and Portis will do too.

Ridiculous draft- I know people say we got lucky with Porzingis, but really I think it would have been very difficult to not get lucky with all the talent that was available.

So True

um no... mudiay and russell...no thanks

Rookie PG dont show NBA level of B.ball until they been in the league 3 years ..
In the last 20 years the exceptional rookie PG u can count on one hand .. Lillard, Westbrook, Rose, and CP3.

so in the last 20 years...you said? are you sure? do you really want me to start naming rookie PGs who endured their hot start? nahhh i'll start with one clue...you forgot the MVP of the league. and I see you mentioned only the "recent" PGs. :)

http://nba.nbcsports.com/2016/02/22/report-pistons-voiding-donatas-motiejunas-trade-with-rockets-76ers/

Sources: Pistons in process of voiding three-team trade
By Shams Charania of The Vertical 3 hours ago

After forward Donatas Motiejunas was unable to get physicians’ clearance for his troublesome back, the Detroit Pistons

are in the process of voiding a three-team trade with Houston and Philadelphia, league sources told The Vertical.

The physicians and specialists examining Montiejunas’ back refused to clear him, pushing Pistons executives to kill the deal agreed upon at Thursday’s trade deadline, league sources said.

Motiejunas and guard Marcus Thornton will return to the Houston Rockets. Center Joel Anthony – who went to Philadelphia in the deal – will return to the Pistons. Detroit will also keep the top-eight protected 2016 first-round draft pick it sent to Houston.

Philadelphia waived forward JaKarr Sampson to make room for Anthony, and The Vertical reported that Sampson agreed to a contract with the Denver Nuggets. That transaction remains unchanged.

Motiejunas has been plagued with back issues and played only 18 games between the Rockets and their NBA Development League affiliate in Rio Grande.

The Pistons had wanted Motiejunas to bolster their frontcourt, along with forward Tobias Harris, who was acquired from Orlando.

not at all. i was surprised detroit wanted him knowing his back issues
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Lowry was 15/20 from the field vs the Cavs, and 11/15 from the charity stripe.

This was against one of the better defensive teams in the league with two pretty good defensive guards, Shumpert and Delevadova, on the team. Not a single blocked shot by the Cavs (Or the Raptors, for that matter.)

How many "our guards suck" threads would have popped up around here if he had done this to the Knicks?

The game has changed a lot since I first started watching it.

Tons. But plenty popped up when Shump was in NY.

My real issue has to do with the rules and how the game is being played...not sure that anyone can stop a decent offensive minded guard with a good first step.

During the playoffs finals last year (Probably getting a few hits on holfresh, I think, who was a Shumpert fan.) Shumpert got a defensive rebound with James nearby, and I think he wanted to bring the ball up the court, but James signaled to him to give him the ball, and I commented on the implications, and how it really showed a lack of faith in Shumpert, a guy who we looked at as a potential PG at one point.

With Irving out, the only player besides himself who James might have wanted bringing the ball up the court was Delevadova, I think. Quite a condemnation of Shumpert's ability.

Hate to say it, but the way the rules are now, a player who can play D, but is unreliable in other areas, is not worth the kind of contract the Cavs gave Shumpert.

I think that good perimeter defenders (If that is all they can do) have lost some of their value because it is so difficult to stay in front of a quick guard given the high picks and hand-check rules. They have value, of course, but they are marginalized a bit because of how the game is now played.

Joe Johnson seems destined to go to the Heat, but it sounds like the Cavs really wanted him, too...

...more proof that Shumpert, with his injuries and inconsistency, is not someone James can depend on anymore.

Also, you have to think James endorsement helped Shump get his big contract. I can't imagine that he is moved very easily with the money he is owed.

I'm sure Bron has also learned it's foolish to depend on JR in crunch time.

I think JJ would make the Cavs a very strong contender to knockout the Warriors. Sort of shocked if he chooses Miami over the Cavs.

With under 7 minutes in the game Houston has scored 35 pts against the Spurs.
