Had not seen this one...I'll bet Malone was pissed off about Mudiay's D, but he article is vague about what Malone was upset about.

Emmanuel Mudiay Apologizes For Verbal Altercation With Mike Malone

Mike Malone had verbal altercations during Tuesday's game with both Emmanuel Mudiay and Blake Griffin.

With 1:53 left in the fourth quarter, Malone laid into Mudiay for what he thought was a subpar performance.

Mudiay had a few words of his own in retort back to Malone and was then pulled from the game.

"There is frustration on our end, having lost four games in a row now," Malone said. "Just trying to find way to get a win. Winning is a great cure-all for anybody, like it was for (the Clippers) tonight, coming in having lost three in a row. So this is a very competitive game, guys are out there working hard trying to do their best, and sometimes emotions get involved. By no means is there an issue with Emmanuel or anybody else on this team. We are together, we are unified and we're going to continue to fight to stay together to get this thing turned around."

Said Mudiay: "It's just both of us being competitors. It probably was my fault, I could have been doing a lot more. So I kind of put the blame on myself. I've got nothing against Coach, I respect him. He's a great person, and I have all the respect in the world for him.

"Me and him are both competitive. We want to win. We hate losing. We're on a four-game losing streak, something like that. It's just us trying to win. At the same time, it's over with. It's on to the next game. It's been like that my whole life. He's just trying to challenge me, which I accept."


Both Malone and Mudiay said the right things...still something to monitor.

Wow. I was thinking Phoenix might be able to give GSW a battle - first game after their big win against the Lakers, post-Thanksgiving, on the road... nope.

Phoenix's starting backcourt has 28pts on 13-21fg, they're shooting 57% as a team... and they're down by 18 at the half to the GSW.

The Warriors were 15-20 3pt fg in the first half. That is insane. That team is insane.

edit: 15 3pters in one half is an NBA record.

Wow. Nice to be on vacation and catch up on other teams. Nuggets/Spurs is a pretty good game. Spurs up by 7.

I agree. I thought Rod Thorn was the best gm in the league when he was in n j. King has been ridiculously awful.

AD hurt by Paul in Clipper/Pelican game. Not sure what Paul's intent was.


Paul initiated the contact between the two players as he attempted to draw a foul while bringing the ball into the frontcourt. Davis, who was whistled for a foul, immediately went to the court in front of the Pelicans’ bench as his coaches and teammates advocated on his behalf. Davis held his right knee and right ankle in evident pain and was attended to by the team’s medical staff.

yes! maybe Phil should start following advanced stats and not bring in horrible players with terrible advanced stats.

he did bring in Rolo but maybe that was for his defense and leadership.
