Mudiay looking like a rookie. Still has a good awful shot/release. Not much confidence in his handle either. Only one game but Im still glad we picked Grant over Mudiay.

Missed the beginning of the game, so I did not see a lot of his poor shooting.

Still inconsistent with his release but I don't think his form is broken by any means. Saw one nice pull up midrange shot, and a 3, but he also shot a number of bricks before I fell asleep at the computer.

Seems a little to loose and showy for me in terms of his handle, but he finds the open man much of the time, and sees the court very well. I think that once players realize he will get them the ball if they are open, the Denver offense should be interesting to watch.

Stands around when he does not have the ball, and this fits into my belief that he is a player who needs to be in control of the ball to be effective.

To be honest, and I know some will get on me for saying this, but I see some similarities to Shved in his style...and results.

One thing which surprised me in SL, and I saw last night, is that his man on man D is not great, and he seems to drift at times. Has a rep for being able to defend, but I expected some real tenacity on D, yesterday, and did not see it on many occasions.

First game of his first year, though...can't make real judgments yet.

Just watching the replay -- I like the look of this French big man on Denver, Joffrey Lauvergne. 6'11" 240 with a nice variety of skills. He rebounds, plays well in the post with both hands, can drive the ball and he can shoot. He's impressive...I think we might have our own version of this player in Willy Hernangomez. Something nice to look forward to.

Saw the game last night..Mudiay played like a rookie...He is very cavalier with his handle and takes too many chances with his passes..He passes too much in tight spaces...Great court vision tho...You saw the difference between a vet team and a team of young players last night...All of Denver's starters were out of breath 4 minutes into the game...Clippers vets were fine...The difference between know how to prepare yourself for the season and just not knowing what to expect or having a vet presence to show you these things or having team expectations...But I was impressed that Mudiay wasn't afraid of the moment when pressed..I think he was trying too hard to play with Chris Paul...He will learn that he doesn't have to make a great play every time down court...But you saw flashes of how easily he can get to the rim..He is big standing next to Paul and at times, he left Paul, a great defensive player, standing still... He was met with Jordan, Griffin and Josh Smith at the rim a few times...He can get into the lane at will...He needs polish to his entire game...You tend to forget this kid just turned 19 a few months ago..Chris Paul pulled his aside and spoke to him after the game...This kid will be fun to watch..Can't wait to see his legs get under him and his teammates get used to his passes...

i watched the whole game and was impressed. Mudiay played against CP3 who was in full *******-playoff-intensity mode. he was obviously intimidated and nervous. in the 2nd half, once he settled in and played the 2nd team players, he played well. this kid is oozing with potential. hit 3 threes and made some nifty passes. as a rookie hell be making mistakes ALL YEAR Long but hes a keeper. anyone who says that grant was the better pick is a knicks fan trying to make themselves feel good for not drafting him
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Hardly. Never wanted to draft Mudiay. Too erratic, shoots without a conscience. If he squares up and shoots he's ok, but too often Mudiay jacks up these off balance shots like he's still on the playground. That still hasnt changed. Mudiay could turn out to be something special, but Grant right now is more polished, can get to the rim almost at will, is a better distributor and defender than Mudiay. Im very happy we drafted Porzingis over Mudiay and I believe he has a much better chance of being an impact player. We got a big man and a PG in this draft which I said should be our first priority all summer. I feel great about these picks.

For what Jackson and Fisher are trying to do, Grant is better for this team, IMO.

If you want to say that Mudiay will be the "better" player, fine, but even Mudiay, after the draft, admitted that the Triangle is probably not his thing. For better or worse, Mudiay seems like someone who has to have the ball and be in a free flow offense...I think much of what he can do would be wasted on the Knicks-Fisher would never give him the offensive freedom he will probably have with Denver. I also think that Grant will be the better defender. MDA would have liked Mudiay, though, despite some limitations on his shot at this point.

You can be unhappy with our system, but right now we have to live with it. Grant was a steal where we got him, and there never was any consideration of choosing between Mudiay and Grant, anyway.

i have no problem with KP over Mudiay...KP has more upside. but i cant think that Grant is better than Mudiay. but i can "settle" for grant over mudiay. im not sure grant fits this triangle or any PNR PG.

thats all im saying Mudiay will be the better player. i think the triangle takes away creativity from the PG position...that includes grant, mudiay, nash or kidd. i can "settle" for mudiay or grant but i cant convince myself that grant is better

Comparing Grant and Mudiay or Shrved for that matter is just silly..You are just showing your hand..Mudiay will be the best player on the Nuggets in two years...Shrved will be 27 in Dec., Grant is 23, Mudiay is 19..They will try to run the offense around Mudiay like what MDA did for Nash...He came up against Chris Paul last night and he pressed..This kid will be ok...

Yeah, it is pretty clear that Mudiay on this team is not the same as Mudiay on the Nuggets.
On this team, Grant alone would do more than Mudiay ever could. We sort of had a draft coup d'État all things considered (i.e. Our coach w/ triangle and defense, and got KP and Grant.)
And on top of that we had pretty good FA signings imo. I like the direction.
I'm really excited about this season, we can have a great TEAM on our hands, just give them time, will be humming by the halfway point.
