I was listening. The espn interviewers in typical espn interviewers fashion asked the dumbest questions you can ask in a 10min segment but KP answered every question often politely disagreeing without putting anyone on the spot

LOL I like the part at the end. Lower Manhattan is a trap, wherever JR Smith went, stay away from all those places!

I really like KP's disposition. He seems to be about as mentally ready as you can be as a rookie coming from another part of the world into the Meat Grinder of NY. He seems like he has a good idea of who he is right now and I really look forward to watching him this year. He'll have his issues but at least it feels like he's gonna continue to work on his weaknesses and do whatever he can to improve. The Hahn and Humpty interview was brief but you can tell KP is on the ball and not letting any of the outside distractions interfere with his preparation.

I like Hahn and DiPietro...I think they got enough of the right questions in, but sometimes they have a habit of saying too much and, in essence, giving the answer to the guest, instead of just letting them answer. They also like to get in a lot of humor, but that's their schtick.

KP has more personality, IMO, but there is a little Jeter in him in how he deals with the media. I'll be stunned if he ever says anything "bulletin board" worthy that will inspire opponents.

He is old school in this respect...definitely a tribute to the people who brought him up, but also to his maturity. Playing in Europe also helped him out, I would expect.

KP just seems to have common sense. I think he realizes there's no need to say anything negative. At this point it's all good and there's no need to rock the boat. Down the line i'm sure once he's established himself he may feel a bit more free to express his displeasure with something if it's necessary to say. He seems like a well mannered young man who has been prepared for this situation by his family and coaches.

The best 2 parts for me was when he said Melo always wanted KP on his team during scrimmages and that he always got him open shots with good passes. This is some of the leadership qualities that Melo might have that is not easily showcased.

I think Melo is perfectly fine with passing when he trusts his teammates. He's not Lebron so I'm not expecting him to suddenly be that guy, but he should be more willing to pass with this particular roster. He's got some guys that will not be looking to pass up open shots.

this is bogus. Melo pretty much averages the same number of assists year to year regardless of who is on his team. The only guy who got him to pass a bit more is MDA and that did not work out too well in the long run for MDA since it got him canned.

NOBODY IS GONNA TELL MELO TO PASS THE BALL!

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Correction the only person to truly get Melo to pass the ball was Karl for that one playoff series vs Dallas I believe. Billups Smith Melo Nene all averages like 5ast each for the series.

Seems like a good time to change a thread about Porzingis to a Melo bashing thread?

Funny...Kyle Lowry said the same thing when he was playing with Porzingis at an Impact Sports training camp before he pulled out of the 2014 draft...read that he always wanted him on his team.

In his case I think he might have been doing this so he could go to the basket without getting his shot blocked.

Wow. That says a lot. Really excited to see this kid develop. Berman had quote from Fisher where he said Porzingis will compete for the starting power forward spot.

I am hopeful that KP will be a star. He has the right make-up and his talent is there.

He will exceed expectations this year and average 15/7 in less than 30 mpg.
