three guards in the triangle? the triangle offense emanates from the post outwards and does best with big men who can pass the ball.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

The best size and talent we have. IMO the more time they play together early will pay off down the line. We drafted KP and Jerian to be starters so might as well get them used to it.

That line up might work if there was a back up two guard. I guess if you stagard the playing time it might could work but who would you take out first? Keep in mind those players you take out will likely start the 2nd qtr and you want some kind of offense so what is the second unit that makes sense.

Not sure Fisher/Phil does this from the start...but you hope this is our lineup sooner rather than later.

Agreed. I hope at the 1/4 - 1/3 mark, this is the lineup. Rooks wear out quick, would be better for them to come off the bench for a bit, get experience, etc.
Like the Lineup though.

Im talking what I would do. I think this is more in line with how the NBA works right now.

How can you possibly say that it's the best talent we have? 2 of them haven't played a single NBA mine, and haven't proved squat. How many times are we going to prematurely shoot a load over rooks that have proved nothing?

the team has alot of unproven's. O'quinn hasnt proved to be starter worthy yet, and galloway hasnt either. Those guys may develop into such roles during TC and Pre, but right now this cant be said.

Lots is this obviously depends on who they match up with. Meanwhile all your bigs other than Lopez are sitting
And they are in the rotation in all likelihood. Seraphim. Williams, OQuinn, KP and Galloway. That simply won't work rotation wise. I'm all for a 3 guard rotation depending on who they are playing AND if you can pry Butler straight up for Melo. Then rotate Kris, Seraphin and Williams or OQuinn Strart up front

I believe you have to have the ability to play 3 and even 4 guards now. Id have taken Norman Powell over Willy G. With Lopez Seraphim Oquinn kp admundson we have more than enough. We reallycould've used Powell off the bench

I think it's easy to see that Jerian has a more complete game than any other of our guards. KP is loaded with physical size, talent and skills for a 20 yr old. His main issue was his strength. If he has made some significant progress it should help him to be able to have an impact this year.

it's just a guess at talent though right? and no one is shooting their load just projecting.

I agree....But Phil and Fisher are running the show, not you, me or the fans. Phils not going to invest in so many bigs, just to have them ride the bench. With that said, Melo will almost definitely play SF.....and the PF's will be a mix of Melo, D.Will, KP.......That gives Phil a twin tower look with D.Will and KP.....but also enough flexibility to play fast or half court. Some may not like D.Will....but he's very fast and runs like a deer for a PF....same with KP. So having two bigs on the floor at one time shouldnt reduce our team speed. D.Will and KP at PF are just as fast as Melo at PF, so we don't lose team speed. But when we had Amari, Melo and Tyson, thats a slower lineup. But a bigger / flexible lineup improves out interior defense and team rebounding.

I think Seraphin and probably Amundson are gone after this year. The knicks should be a lot better but I think they are looking at team building as a process and wanted Hermangomez for the future.

I got...

RoLo
KP6
Me7o
AA
Jose

Comments....

- I want KP6 spending his time on court between Me7o and RoLo.
- there have been rumors of Knicks viewing AA as a 6th man which makes some sense
- not sold on Jose but he's got to be better than last year right
- not sure Knicks should be planning any type of big role for D-Williams

They can't be starting right away but as long as Grant and Porzingis get 20-30 minutes in the 1st third of the season, they'll be doing very well.

Calderon
Affalo
Williams
Melo
Rolo

is probably how we should start out..hopefully by 30 games Grant and KP will have surpaseed Williams and Calderon.

I'm with you on what you're saying about the more time they get playing together it will pay off down the line but i'm probably the only one or one of the very few that still wants J.Calderon as our starting PG.
