Are you sure you are talking about the right coach? I am pretty sure it was the other way around because the AD is the one who brought him in. Strong has a reputation as not being very personable which is what rub some boosters the wrong way. HE is more of a just let me coach and run my program quiet type of guy.

Anyway, regardless like you said you have to win in Texas that is a football state through and through. Unless they have a bowl-less season I think he gets another year. The problem is that if he doesn't have a good year he can't get the recruits to help him win. His only saving grace is being in a rich talent pool of Texas where he'll get some life long fans and legacies to go along with the underrated FLA recruits that he can pull from his ties in FLA.
