I like that we are committing to finding 2-3 players a year to play in Westchester and using spots 14-15 on the 15 roster for younger player.a HUGE HUGE problem we had that started back at the end of the 90's is we simply DID not have a plan in place to turn over the talent level. We tried to BUY free agents and use draft picks to trade for short term starphucks. We have a system in place and a minor league team so to speak--and I think going 4ward our portfolio of players will have much more value as a whole and the team should be able to find success and keep it going for long periods of time.
I agree that there is an actual plan for the future now. It's not just about continually looking for the big name and having nothing in development. For the first time this team is acting like a real franchise. They want to build up the pipeline of talent. It takes time and dedication to the process to eventually find success. This isn't just about the present with no regard for the future. You have to stick with this approach in order to really reap the full benefits.
