Yeah this was posted earlier. It was a good workout. Jerian is one of the most underrated guys in this draft IMO. He's a perfect fit for this team and how we want to play. He's that big combo guard that Phil craves. He's everything that Jose isn't in terms of his strengths. I think he complements our other guards very well. He's a player that is used to not only running his team and setting up his teammates but also being a primary option offensively. He can defend at a good level as well. I'm hoping he wins the starting job because we need his defense as much as his PG play.

agreed. Besides towns, russell, and winslow he was my favorite prospect. IMO that was phils best move as a GM so far

That was an amazing work out. I didn't remember seeing it and it was posted on reddit. I watched it twice in a row.

I was so happy when they announced the deal during the draft. It was exactly what I had hoped Phil would do and he shocked me with just how good of a move he made. Jerian and KP as well as Willy will be the keys to the future of this team IMO. It's gonna be very interesting to watch them develop.

That was an impressive workout. The Knicks have hopefully finally found a PG who can run the team for the next 8 years. This kid only needs a few months of experience to take over the starting job.

It's not fully appreciated by some fans and most of the media, but this draft was huge! KP, Jerian and Willy was a very good haul. It seems like some fans and the media aren't fully aware of how these kids can impact the future of the franchise. These 3 along with the young vets Phil added this summer should really help to form the core of the franchise. This is just the beginning. We still need more talent but it's a great start IMO. Having a guard with the overall quality of Jerian could make a huge difference.

What I like about Grant the most is his ability to find a teammate in almost any type of offense. Uptempo, half court, Jerian can improvise in a hurry.

Wont be as easy with NBA defenses, and the faster pace of the game, but it looks like Grant is up to the job. Would be great to have a long term solution at PG.

I am really happy with Grant and that video blew me away. But I really liked Mudiay. He looks like another kid that could be really special from this draft. Hopefully Grant turns out to be better but I think Mudiay is very talented. Mudiay or Okafor are my picks for roy next season.

never said mudiay wasnt talented. In fact on draft night i assumed he was our pick and i was fine with that. However right now i feel grant can do a little more defensively and his decision making. I do think mudiay has a high ceiling though

Mudiay is for a fact a talented player, but for how this team plays Jerian is likely the best fit. He can play off the ball as well as with the ball in his hands and that is extremely important. If teams were to try and back off of Jerian he will make them pay since he's a more reliable shooter. Jerian being a more mature PG is a plus for this team. We know what he can do and so far his game is very complete. We aren't waiting for him to develop some part of his game like many of the younger PG's in this draft. With them you HOPE that they will fully develop but there are no guarantees. With Jerian we know that he has the needed skills.

Yeah, I think Mudiay is a potentially all star talent but I don't think our team is ready for two Freshman. Grant can do more than Mudiay now and we know what we are getting with him. His ceiling is not as high, but neither is his floor as low. (We don't know what Mudiay will amount to.)

Of course I would have taken Mudiay over Grant, but I think we got the player who fits our team now and going forward the best. Usually it is not just the talent, but the chemistry and Grant just oozes with that kind of leadership. For where we picked him in a deep draft, that was a GREAT trade. Grant can play in any system, just a very very smart guy. Yeah, we gave up a scorer, a pretty decent one, but with no defense. Timmy is in a better system for his skills. He might shine there. We all made out ok.

And I take KP over Mudiay every day of the week and twice on Sundays...

Agreed! Jerian is a more finished product and I like what he is. As he continues to mature he should be a very solid floor leader for this team. As for Mudiay, he's in a perfect spot for him. He'd be held back here in this system. KP was the right choice. I think he's got tons of upside and is already a very good prospect. I'm a big proponent of making sure you have a core PG and Big man when you're building a team. That dynamic is Tried and True. Jerian and KP solidifies this roster going forward IMO.

Excellent point that I missed. If you are going to build a team, you get a great PG and Center. We just did that imo. (We can now plug players in around them that fit their style. And Melo is the #1 scorer.)
Going to be interesting to see what this amounts to. Seriously, if these guys do show promise, Melo might
want to see what we can do in 2 or 3 years, especially with the cap going up.

jerian grant seems level headed...not full of himself (rightfully so being a rookie and picked later in round 1), i really hope he brings an intensity level of a starter to our team. he will need to defend jose's man for sure.
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree
