Hey,

Please feel free to move this post if it's not in the right place

I am visiting NYC from Scotland on December 4th and want to get to my first Knicks game. I can see that they play the Nets on that day but I'm not able to purchase tickets from the NBA website. Is this game sold out? If so then what channels would you recommend for resale tickets and whats the going rate for a seat? - near the back is fine!

Many thanks in advance!

I don't believe the Knicks are selling individual tickets yet; just season tickets and partial plans. Stubhub is always good to check for resale tickets, that's where I always sold my extra tickets when I still bought Knicks tickets. Right now, you're not going to get any good deals on Knicks tickets, it's way too early. The cheapest seats cost between $70-$80 and anyone reselling is probably looking to make a profit. If you're willing to wait until closer to the game you should be able to find some deals from people looking to dump tickets because they can't go.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Unless you happen to know a season ticket holder or somebody with a partial plan, this seat will carry a premium when individual tickets go on sale since it is a "rivalry game." The new tiering system screws the fans. They tiered the OKC tickets making individual tickets 3x face for the upper deck then all of the players sat.

You should purchase them on StubHub after the primary ticket sales have occurred. You will likely get a better deal closer to the game or at least not get completely ripped off.

For that game you will be looking at a minimum of $150 for a seat in the upper 200s...if you are lucky. $150 will get you a seat in the 300s and 400s, but those sections are waaaaay up there and/or behind the basket. I am always on StubHub buying my tickets for Knick games and I can tell you for that game do not expect to get in the door for anything under $150.

Advice: look for sections 221/222...226/227. Towards the ends of the court, you do not feel like you are way up atop Mt Everest, the seats face the team benches. A very good seat and the prices in those sections always seem to be about right. (Well about as right as right can be when you know you are being ripped off. 150 dollars for a Knick game is about 130 dollars too high.)

Good luck, and don't buy early. Look to StubHub a day before game -- prices will be cheaper and don't worry, seats will be available. You can do even better if you show some backbone and look to buy just an hour or two before game time. I've done that and got myself some tickets in that nice 222 section for just fifty bucks. Yes, it was a game against the lower than low 76ers, but I did get to see Bargnani fly through the air, fall flat on his face, and for all intents and purposes, end his Knicks career. That was worth $50.

I love all the balcony barseats, and for whatever reason they always are reasonably (at least compared to other seats at the Garden) priced. I'd also wait for day of game to buy and check Stubhub. There's always a chance you can get a good deal from someone just looking to dump the tickets
