Say this season we win anywhere from 33-38 games. KP and Grant have solid rookie seasons.
Next offseason we have 19mil projected in cap space depending on who ops in and how high the cap rises. With 19 mil we have the ability to add 1 to 2 players to provide upgrades and or depth to the roster. KP and Grant would now be heading into there 2nd yr and Baring any set backs are able to contribute more then the previous yr along with the added help. Hermongomes would also hopefully be adddled I to the mix. Say we improve to a 40-47 win team that yr.
That coming offseason Calderon, Affalo, Williams would all be coming off the books freeing up around 20mil in cap space along with the cap continuing to increase. KP and Grant would be heading into there 3rd yrs which is usually the breakout yr. And we glgave our first round pick this draft.
So if played right we could use the flexibility of our contracts to continue to upgrade or add pieces over the next 2 yrs while maintaining a decent level of competitiveness. 3rd yr we could be a 50win team depending on the upgrades and the roster. As well as heading into Melos final contract year with 26-28mil coming off the books. And another first round draft pick.
There are tons of other variables I didnt cover like Fisher and the development or trades of players like Early and Galloway, injuries etc. But the outline seems pretty good.
