Good Article and worthy of discussion.

writer is an Oakley fan and while he does not say he should be power forward, Anyone that saw dave debuschrre play know they are very different.
Dave could push the floor up the court and hit a long range shot, he could guard Chamberlin as well.

But I'd have PF willis Reed in there. LIke Bernard King, Willis was dominant at the position for 4 years and he moved over to center when Dave was traded for Walt Bellemy. Think Antonio Mcdyss in his prime and that's who Willis was at PF. At the same time I have no problem with Dave D in the spot. Oak for all his legend would be 3 or 4th choice.

They have:

Ewing
Debusschre
Bernard King
Walt
Allan Houston

Allan is a problem for most. Earl was a combo guard and his greatest stat years were not with the knicks. Michael Ray Richardson was a 7/8 magic Johnson but not pure SG either. Talent wise could have been an amazing talent. Ray Williams? Naw, Harper, cheeks, Doc, Strick or Mark Jax? More Point guardish in my book. Trent tucker? Richie Guiren? Funny, Allan as pure SG by default might get the spot. Not gonna say he was the best guard, but via position in their prime? My heart says Earl but he made his compromise to play in NY as did clyde. Each would have statistically done better. Clyde has the rings and the masterpiece's. I'd even say he was the MVP in 1970 series. Dude hung 37 pts and 19 dimes in a game 7 championship game!!!!

I don't know who to put over Allan?

I would take Spree over Houston in a second.

I'm the biggest Spree fan but he played SF here and was half the spree of Golden State.

Sprewell was a better player than Houston and he played SF because we was way more versatile that Houston. Shouldn't Earl Monroe be way higher than Houston if you want to be specific about position? Houston doesn't belong anywhere on a list that starts with greatest. That is unless the list is about the greatest disappointments of all time.

Based on sheer numbers and one lucky runner with 0.8 seconds against the heavily favored Heat, Allan Houston.

Close 2nd, and number 1 in alot of Knicks fans hearts, John Starks.

Good point. I think we have to stay pure to the position. I do think he played some very good in prime of career play while here but maybe not enough time put in at the position to warrant this honor.

Dick Barnett "fall back baby!!"
Trent Tucker

Not the players that Spree was, but positional play and time here does matter.

Mike Newell
Paul Westphal

Good players past their prime.

I go easily go Earl, but default and not popular, Allan makes sense.
