The guy has been a beat writer for 20 years....

I Googled him longer than I really care to, but he's been a beat writer since the Knicks went to the finals in 94.... if it wasn't 94 then it was 95 or 96... anyway the Knicks have gotten progressively worse since then.

The Knicks won 17 games and this guy has fell off the deep end. He's unreadable now and he's really annoying on twitter. He's even sent me a direct message to personally mess with me. He's a bitter writer. He hates his job. He hates the team and it's fans. He brings nothing to the fan base and he hasn't be right in years.

He really needs to go do espn full time and get outta ny with his garbage. That's my opinion of course.

I think he's in need of a change. He should of on to a different assignment. He's no longer able to just do his job without a major slant to his writing and tweets. He's like having a Boston Celtics fan writing nasty things about your team all the time. Yes this franchise has been a mess, but there's still a professional way to handle covering the team.

it's a credit to isola that he did not lose his mind or kiss dolan's ass. best wishes for a guy who stuck to his guns.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

The sad thing is he can be a good writer, but he's stayed in the job too long. When you reach the level of contempt he has for what you do (and he's been that way for years), then really its time to change jobs, for your own good.

It's not about kissing Dolans ass. He has to report for the team. Nowadays he's always bitching and moaning and overly sarcastic. That's not sticking to his guns. He wasn't always like that. He's gone off the deep end the last few years.

Without access to MSG, he had to come up with some new schtick to write about.

Didn't he win some award for his writing? Let's face it guy the guy like his job and his job is to antagonize the fan base which he really does a good job of. He did it so well that his contemporaries awarded him for it. He gets more hits being negative than being positive. He isn't in it for the love of the Knicks or the fans he is in it for the love of Isola. Isola wants this organization to fail and he is going to do this by ridiculing every move and person. This is happening because he wasn't allowed for MSG functions.

He does his job so well he even got me to respond to him on Twitter. He has an opinion that requires attention, it only matters if you give it the attention. When you write about someone this is exactly what he wants. Let's not talk about it lets not think about it and just move on. If you know what his intention and you already know he brings nothing to the table but garbage about the Knicks why bother reading his material.

I mean can you blame him. When your job is cover the turd that is the New York Knicks for 20 years, it can make even the most jaded journalist a cynic.

Until the Knicks put something resembling a decent team, all the "haters" are absolutely right. Isola, Berman, Araton, Lupica, O'Connor, Begley, Stephen A, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, Bill Simmons, etc....

Prove them wrong on the court then you'll get the praise you deserve. Until that happens, nothing they say is off limits or wrong in my book.

I guarantee you the moment the Knicks turnaround, that sour note turns positive for alot of the beat writers and journalists out there.

Prove them wrong is all.

he's sounding more and more like peter vecsey these days.... where's vecsey these days.. nowhere on nba tv which by the way shows almost everyone from nyc who has anything to say about basketball.
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

+1

My favorite Knicks beatwriter for the last 20yrs. Even though I hate the Daily News. A true Knick fan.

His articles early on is a big reason I became more than just the average Knick fan. That and meeting Clyde at 10 and the greatness of Patrick Ewing.

I wish him luck and Inhole the Red Bulls get Super Mario Botelli!

That's why I have the upmost respect for him. He is a true Knick fan like the rest of us. He wants the team team to be good again but Dolan made it impossible.

You can either tow the company line like he rest of the knick beat writers or be true to yourself as a die in the wool Knick fan. He stayed true and I respect him for that

Your Naive, its about ratings and his ability to attract readers. If you think he is like the rest of us, thats your special link and enjoy it. Stephan A. SMith is an act and its effective to differentiate which helps his ratings. Isola like many writers are in the business of breaking stories in a competitive world. Beat writers used to just follow the team and have unilimted access. NY media is a different animal because the many outlets there are.

He lost his MSG privileges and had to reinvent himself. He gets on ESPN shows now and has increased his brand.

The only thing I like about Frank is that he gets back to you if you tweet him or email him. A lot of reporters don't. That being said, he appears to just be at war with the franchise and criticizes almost every move they make. That didn't change with the change in regime or the change in the roster etc. He is occasionally positive.

The most passionate Knicks fans and people have all been ostracized from the team because of Dolan. That includes some former 90's Knicks who tell it like it is.

Those are the people I have the upmost respect for. Frank is a true Knick fan regardless of what happened between he and Dolan

I was in middle school reading his articles lol

He started in either 95 or 96

I think you need someone like Isola that holds the team accoutnable.

The Knicks are an expansion franchise and the joke of the entire league. What's the guy supposed to say? IF there is something to be positive about, i am sure he will be. But, when you have an owner that makes it hard for the media to do their job and puts the nba's worst product or close too it on the floor the last 15 years while charge the 2nd highest ticket prices in the league what do you expect.

It's no fair going into every season praying for a playoff birth.

He's not the Knicks beat writer at the Daily News anymore. Stefan Bondy was given the Knicks beat and Isola is more of a Knicks/NBA general columnist now. He's bitter at the Knicks - but Dolan has basically taken away all his access at the Garden.

I think Isola is honest. And he's given props when they've been good.

If there's a curse at MSG it is spelled D-O-L-A-N. Or possibly I-S-I-A-H. These names should not be spoken out loud.
