Couple of notes:

Lin stands out as a guy that the market really regressed to the mean for. He's a capable back-up point guard. That's still really great for a guy with his story, from almost-cut to capable rotation player. He's just not the star Linsanity created a spotlight for.

Stoudemire and Williams are basically showing the impact that injury can have. In their primes, those two guys were really as good as you would find at their positions. Stoudemire was a legitimate MVP candidate in 2009 and 2010, and you could make the argument in 2009 and 2010 that Williams was as good as Chris Paul. Sadly, knees remain the absolute worst when it comes to player injuries.

Scola and West stand out as pretty solid bargains. West obviously more so, but Scola has been chugging along with the Pacers as well. West's teammate Tim Duncan is looking at approximately a $4.75 million paycut this year as well, despite his losing $20 million or more to a faulty investor.

That Thornton deal really is a steal when you consider what he does well, and the fact he's had no major injury or off-court issues.

Andrea Bargnani, the gift that keeps on giving.

I really believe that Lin was never going to be able to maintain the level of play of Linsanity but if he was allowed to play in MDA's system or something similar for the last few years, I think he would've been a much more successful player. Lin was in some situations that didn't really fit his style of play.

Lin also has durabilty issues and for many players, going ball to the wall is unsustainable! Shows sometimes just how hard it is to make it in this league and stick!

Looks like Bargs was ready to sign elsewhere but called nets and said he'd take minimum and stay in NY.
I thought Phil would have kept him as he really seemed to believe his skill set would thrive in the triangle.
I think he still does but a history of injury and the disruptive nature of what that does to a team is a set back, and phil is going with a team that has durability at least historically.

He wants KP to play, and Derrick williams to have a role. Players buy in and have their place gives them accountabilty.

So if this is who the man wants, then so be it!!!
