LaMarcus Aldridge, the premier NBA free agent this year, went on the Russillo Show to talk about his free agency and particularly his dealings with the New York Knicks, who suck.

Aldridge said on the Russillo Show on ESPN Radio that Phil Jackson and the Knicks wanted him to “strictly” play center. Aldridge didn’t want to solely play center. Thus, Aldridge and the Knicks agreed to cancel their scheduled meeting in free agency, Aldridge said.

“They didn’t want to meet with me,” Aldridge said. “Some people said it was me. But it was both parties agreeing that we shouldn’t meet.”

If free agency occurred before the draft, might have changed things a bit.

This is like a Berman article, where he puts an extreme spin on some info he has to get people to read his article.

Speaking of **** journalism, check out Sheridan offseason grade for the knicks (calls Porzingis just a mystery, ignores Grant and O'Quinn) weirdly calls 2 trades from last season "utterly disasterous" even though a) they're not and b) that's not part of the offseason. Second article he's gone into anti knick rant mode- he's still in tears after Phil called him out last season!

Is that the one he wrote before the draft ended? He trashed Phil again on the Porzingis pick but wrote the article before they got grant and hernangomez. He has an axe to grind with Phil because of some confrontation they had (twitter?). It has ruined his integrity as a writer about the Knicks. He seems to find away to Phil bash no matter what.

He marginalized himself as a "journalist" after he completely misinterpreted Jackson's "5 years" comment about KP. Also said something else fooling around that time.

There are guys on who write on his sheridanhoops who disagree with him about the Knicks, though.

Just another voice, just like any of us.

Y not, not like the Spurs have been one of the best franchises in the NBA over the last 20yrs. With arguably the best coach and some of the best talent. Knicks surely could have found a way to pursued him to forgo all that and brought him here.
