I'm assuming we're getting him, and I can see the talent he brings. Wondering if anyone has any insight into what he's like to play with. I'm a bit worried about chemistry. Marbury's not the easiest guy to play with ... his body language isn't subtle when he's pissed at teammates who've made mistakes ... will Crawford be thin skinner, or will he be pushed to do better when one of those Marbury sneers comes his way after Craw hoists an ill-advised shot?

We've got a kind of weird mix of personalities ... what with Marbs, 'Gazy, and then kind of quiet guys like Houston and Sweets. All very different. Don't know how Craw mixes in. Regardless, Lenny's going to have to do a Joe Torre to get the most out of this team.

Maybe JYD will help. Hope he comes in this deal if we only get one of him and ERob. Think he'll be very effective in NY, where his energy and hustle will make him a fan favorite and will, IMO, rub off on the rest of the team and lead to a 2nd unit that really plays some D.

Isiah, Lenny & Marbury all seem to like JC...JC respects & admires all 3 of them as well.

i don't see any problems chemistry wise.

yeah, "'Gazy" is very funny. Plus, it helps make the point that we got some odd dudes on the team.

if marbary and crawford are really the future and are on the same team together, it would be simliar to the francis and mobley.

I like to think that it could potentially be similar to Isiah and Joe Dumars

Crawford will be nowhere similar to Joe Dumars, until he can learn some fundamentals, if he learns them. Then he has to learn to play some defense. Then, if and only if then he learns all that, he has to gain grow some balls and a big ars heart like Dumars. I am not thrilled about the Crawford trade, so far, b/c all I've seen from him is jack up shots. If he becomes a Knick, hopefully, he learns to change that, but I am not a fan of his yet, and I would prefer Briggs's plan, by going after Joe Johnson, instead, if he becomes available. He's 6'7" and can play the 2 and 3, which is what we need. Not another PG.

Wasn't Joe Johnson playing BEHIND Penny Hardaway in the rotation just a few months ago (Penny was starting)?

Oh, you're right he played ahead of Penny. I still like Jamal's playmaking skills and ball-handling more than JJ's. I also like the idea of going after players who actually are available and like the idea of getting rid of Shandon and/or Moochie

JJ isn't available, so why's he being discussed?

Crawford wants to play for the Knicks, and they can get rid of awful contracts like Anderson and Norris. How much more creative can the Knicks be? The Suns aren't going to trade JJ when they lose Richardson.

THe biggest thing about this deal is the ballhandling issue. How will Marbury and Crawford share the ball. If they can get that figured out, they'll be in fine shape.

Maybe we can get Lebron James. I hear also is unavailable and we're obviously interested in discussing unavailable players

It just seems like a waste of discussion to discuss the merits of Joe Johnson when the Suns have said they're keeping him and the Knicks are acquiring Crawford becuase the Bulls want expiring contracts.

If they were putting together a package of talent and trading it, you could think "Hmm, what could this talent get me elsewhere?" but they aren't giving up talent. Phoenix wanted expiring contracts 6 months ago, that's why the Knicks got Marbury and Penny. Now they're trying to build a contender. How could the Knicks possibly get Joe Johnson? Kurt Thomas? Please. Frank Williams? Those are the only two guys I could think of who are tradeable and the Suns have a need for neither of them. So why discuss how good he would be in the Knicks system? I'm sure Tim Duncan would be awesome with the Knicks, why don't we start a thread on how he's better than Ilgauskas and we should go after him instead. That's the type of logic I'm coming from.

i have to agree...we mine as well be talking about going after Al Harrington too...these players are young, not signed to exorbitant contracts, & are NOT free agents, so what's the point in even discussing them as possibilities? at least w/guys like Walker, Z, Crawford, Dampier, etc., these guys are all on the market, so we can waste our time talking about them instead.

Craw was ruined under Cartwright and has been held unaccountable for his pro career. He plays to keep his stats up as he has been shown he is not the future of the team. Also he has played with two teenagers and various misfits.

He will learn under H20 with is a good thing. Alan is so strong fundamentally. Craw has relied on raw skill. He will be coached and accept a lesser role at first without worrying about his stats for contract status. The goal is to tear him down and rebuild him.

He also will be surrounded by mature players and be held accountable for his play. He will have much more support than he ever did with the bulls. Playing with Jaelen Rose vs Marbs? Easy.

Kudos to Laydog for never biting on those Jalen rose rumors!

For those reasons, I think he (craw) can blossom under those circumstances.

Good point nalod, I think people forget that he is just 24, in two years by time he is just 26, Houston will be in the final year of his contract and very tradeable and crawford can step in with two years of seasoning under Houston will be great... The bulls are still banking on 2 HS players who have basically proven that they are not ready to take it to the next level yet, if ever, Cartwright was a mess and I agree the bulls had a lot of misfits on that team....
Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser............... TKF

Good post Nalod. I admit I was never thrilled about Craw., but he certainly can change with new surroundings. And it certainly helps a lot to have 3 all star or former all stars surrounding you, who are great teammates, in Stephon, Allan and Penny. They can all teach him a little something different.
