Thx for posting this. It was a great read. I already like this kid a lot. I think this draft really sets this team up well. In fact the last 2 drafts and all the other young talent we've added including UDFA's really creates a positive future for this team. KP and Jerian are the strength up the middle that you want. You always want you PG and Big Man set for the future and we actually have that IMO. Jerkin is not an afterthought or consolation prize. He's a core piece like KP IMO.

One thing I noticed and clyde even called it out is that Grant has a really weak left hand. Philly already figured it out and were exploiting it.

still really like him but he will need to improve this significantly

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I don't believe one word of it. This is not from Grant at all. Someone else wrote this agenda driven piece. Exhibit A:

And of course, there’s Melo. Melo is The Man. He’s the type of scorer that, as a point guard, you dream of getting to play with. Melo texted me to say congratulations after the draft. Later, I met him in NYC. Obviously, he’s the leader of the team — and after meeting him, I can see why. I can’t wait to drive and kick to him.

One we know Melo never calls or text anyone and we also know that he never meets people. Plus he called Melo a leader. How can you say that you are a high IQ guy Mr. Grant.

Yeah, clearly it was by the propaganda, I mean public relations, department.

I love the Kids passing ability and vision. Of, let's say, 8 assists a game, he gets 3 that most PG's probably don't see.
I worry a teeny bit about parts of his game but think with his work ethic, he has the chance to be a complete player and a special one.
He will be VERY well supported here due to the connections imo.

Looks like the real author of the piece was Melo, and the purpose of it was just to praise Melo while being disguised as being a piece about Grant

Grant just talking gives you the impression that he's a smart kid. I think this is a great situation for him to continue to develop as a floor leader. I think he really is excited about playing with Melo given his age. All the young players are gonna really be into the guys like Lebron, Melo and KD. We're perhaps too jaded but those young guys have a different view of those players. It's been so long since we've seen Melo with a good PG it will be interesting to see how it all comes together. Jerian should be a scorers best friend. He can draw attention and kick rather than just dump it off to Melo and not provide a threat themselves. Jerian can score and get to the hole and that actually should benefit Melo more.

To be honest, Carmelo did text the young dudes 48 hours after the draft
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)
