Sure he had had some hiccups as GM mainly the tyson trade but what i like most is that the draft is just as important as free agency. The tim hardaway trade was a hell of a trade for us. I have a feeling phil will find his way into the draft next year hopefully getting a first rounder we lost from grunwald
dude the more and more i look at the draft (never really paid attn because we never really had reason to) i realize there maybe 12 quality starters in the entire draft every yr, more then 50% are out of the league in 4 to 5 yrs, 25% never become starters.
The best draft class in the last 10 years has been the 2011 draft class, of the first 30 players picked, every single one of them are currently in the NBA and are rotation players
that draft class, notable names
Kyrie
jimmy buttler
kanter
shumpert
kawhi
kember
brandon knight
triston thomas
tobias
kenneth faried
reggie jackson
nikola Mitoric- who just joined the league last season
chandler parson-picked 38
In the 2nd rnd aside from maybe 5 players..none of them are currently in the league
