Said many times he was one of my favorite prospects in the draft. We got a steal in that trade for timmy. I liked what i saw yesterday. He can pass play defense, shoot the 3,and goes to the hoop without hesitation. His basketball IQ is what i really like

He didn't impress me at all..He isn't really athelic nor is he a good shooter..He doesn't have a quick first step which helps cover your lack of speed..Lin has a quick first step which helps him...He was able to get into the lane which was a good thing..I'm not sure we play that type of offense..But I see why he stayed 4 years in school..It's very early and only one game but he wasn't impressive..

He looks more like a vet after 5 years is school than a kid who is learning the ropes..Russell looks tentative and unsure..that won't matter in 2 years..

Wouldnt get too high or low with this kid. Calderon will start and he'll be coming off the bench, think Grant will eventually settle into being a mid tier pg . Thought Celts drafted Rozier too high at 16 but after watching, he is much quicker and explosive than Grant

Rozier has the skill and quickness to play at this level..You saw in flashes his handle and how easily he got into the lane and made good decisions..I'll take Rozier if we ran that type of offense in a heartbeat..

I'd have to completely disagree with you.. He's a pass first point he's learning the system, he has a great first step and is a athletic freak , something Lin never did well pass the ball and is about athletic as my mother

Grant was a little off yesterday but he will be fine. He's got the size, IQ, and skills level to be a starter in the league. Not a star, but a very good guard. Love his ability to get to the free throw line. As a pro if he can get to the line like that and shoot 80% and eventually become a 36-38% 3pt shooter to go along with his passing ability, he is going to be very very good.

That makes no sense. Grant is a pass first PG why would we get a scoring pg to run this offense in terry Rozier??

I see 1st step quickness and pretty good overall speed. There was a reason he was able to get to the ft line. I would not call him an athletic freak but I think he is about as athletic as THjr, Grant just possess better all around qualities and their shooting maybe on par with each other. Hardaway was just an okay shooter coming in and streaky while in the nba. Is okay to be an okay/streaky shooter when you are getting ast, rebs, stls, fts and other things but not so good when all you can do is shoot.

What I want to see is Grant's spot up/ catch n shoot numbers.

Definitely seemed a bit nervous, and he did not do the things he's known for in college.

Galloway had a poor game, too, but we already know what he is capable of. If he was a rookie there would be a lot of comments about how he played yesterday.

PG might be the toughest position for a rookie to prove himself, IMO. More responsibilities.

He has a track record and I expect that when he finds that all important "comfort zone" in our offense, he will do fine.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Grant is not an athletic freak or even close. Also he's had trouble his whole career as a game shooter from deep. He's got good size length and smarts-- and when you use all 3 together you should be a reasonable ball player . For Grant to be really good he would need to show

A. Consistency with a jumper
B. an ability to beat nba guards off the dribble
C. Ability to finish against nba length
D ability to keep quick guards in front of him

This is info we won't have until we get to the nba games. Someone made a point about how deron William would've set up kp many more times-- that's an attribute that makes a great nba pg

HOLY CRAP. Anyone that is predicting how good/bad any of these players will be off of watching what they can do in the summer league and let alone just one summer league game are absolutely ridiculous. I mean i've heard it all now. This is the summer league and these kids are playing against rookies, lifetime D-league kids, euro kids and undrafted kids and people really think they can predict how they'll be in the fuqing NBA. There were people on this board predicting how good or bad these kids will be in the 1st dang quarter yesterday. Hahahaha

No he is not..He is not even close to what Tim was athletically...Tim didn't fit the offense because they need a ball handler/defender at the position..
