Thats not fair. Cant blame fans for being upset for falling to 4 after a 17 win season. Especially since no other team was dropped. However most fans have had time to digest and are happy with our picks. I just dont like a I TOLD YOU SO thread because thats lame

What are you talking about?

There is no blame in the thread and it is a FACT that there was major whining about falling to 4th. All I'm saying is that MAYBE (you might have missed that word) it will work out better than if we got #2 or even #1 pick.

Nor is there any I TOLD YOU SO in the thread title or 1st comment.

Most fans really suck anyway - at least the most vocal ones do. Of course that is just my opinion.

our fans dont suck. In fact we may have one of the most loyal fanbases considering the past 15 years have been miserable. Like i said many fans have had time to digest the draft and free agency. Porzingis has been gaining more fans now after seeing him play and learning more about him

You need to work on your reading comprehension if you see 'I told you so' anywhere in that post.

no need to be nasty, i wasnt trying to offend. I actually agree porzingis may end up being the top guy of the draft

as i knick fan i want him to be better than everyone. Right now if we had a choice id still take towns but so far i like what i see in KP

I'd probably do the same, that's why I put the 'maybe' in the title. It's still a crapshoot at this point.

I'll tell you right now, I'm glad Philly took Okafor.

I have high hopes for this kid because his mind is on BASKETBALL.

i still think okafor is gonna be good and we would have been crazy to pass on him if he slipped

OF course we would have - and so we get to the whole point of the thread!
i understand you dont have to keep saying that most fans are happy and have moved on. Now we have a couple young guns along with some good veterans to look forward to

Will Phil ever let us know for sure who he would have taken at #2 or #3...I doubt it.

He made conflicting statements about what he was looking for.

We know he likes bigger guards who can score, he mentioned D, he talked about maturity and support groups for players, you know he likes bigs who can hit a midrange shot, but also made use of Shaq.

I think he would have taken Towns if he had been available no matter what spot we picked from, but after him, I'm not sure about who he would have taken at 2 or 3. I tend to think he would have taken OK4, but I'm not positive about this.

I think we ended up with a very good player, though, and probably someone with more room to improve because he is behind the 3 picked ahead of him in terms of physical maturity and strength.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Thats the difference from a typical gm dolan puppet picking the consensus pick and Phil Jackson picking for upside.

i think he was looking at a big no matter what. At 2 we probably take okafor. If the sixers took KP and russell was there he probably takes him

I agree....u take ok4 over zinger.....but zinger still has more franchise potential than zach randolph 2.0

Its like comparing gasol and zach.....from memphise.

If we wound up with 1st or 2nd pick, we would have been obligated to take on of the first 3 that were picked but when all is said & done this kid could be as good as any of them.
If he turns out to be a defensive beast...Man, it might actually be fun to watch basketball again.

Yeah i see what you're saying and i've been a believer in Porzingis probably before anyone on here but i wouldn't say we were saved to get the 4th pick cause i still think we needed the bigger center in Towns or OK4 for what Phil was looking for but i definitely have no problem at all with ending up with the 4th pick and Porzingis. This kid is gonna be one of the top PF's in the league in 3/4 years and he'll be ready to contribute right away even though some think it will take those 3/4 years for him to contribute at all.

Now you speak for most fans? I'll keep saying it because some people are slow to grasp the concept.
Like you are/were. Whatever.

lets not start again man, its not a big deal. The fact is porzingis is exciting to see how he develops, he has all the potential in the world
