Depends on how melo looks early in the season. If he has more muscle and coming off knee surgery might need to play pf because he can't guard 3s very well. If that is the case, do you start one of williams or lance thomas. Neither are exciting options. If oquinn looks great in preseason might need to consider starting him as well. Lance Thomas might make sense because he knows the triangle already and might mesh in well in the starting 5. Then if williams for some reason starts reaching his potential then you can switch him into the starting lineup or bring him and KP off the bench with oquinn as the backup center.

Right now quinn would need to be backup center unless they sign another big right??

It's depends on the direction and the goals of the franchise..It will be tough to start 2 or 3 young guys trying to find their fit or figure out their way in the NBA if you are trying to win..Last year with the pieces Phil moved, we should have gotten back one legit starter and another legit bench player to present some pieces to potential free agents..Maybe that's the goal this season..Develop and show 3 or 4 role players that can be the foundation of a team..Maybe the goal is getting to the playoffs...Lets see if Fisher figures out a rotation this year..

I think he is, especially with KP at PF. I think that the majority of PF minutes will be between Melo, KP, and D Williams. So Quinn would be a lot more useful (and see a lot more minutes) at the 5

The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away

yes, next question. lol
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I think O'Quinn is gonna be more the backup center. Maybe they'll go big at times but O'Quinn had bad defensive numbers at the 4 and very good ones at the 5.

I think Kristaps is actually going to win the starting job at PF and Derrick Williams will get time off the bench backing up KP.

The little that I've seen of O'Quinn, he seems more at home playing center...haven't seen him enough to make an honest call though...

I like those first 3 starting myself, with DW off the bench with the 2nd unit. Let's bring KP along slowly at first.

I had him on my radar as a cost-effective free agent possibility. I hope they give him a chance. I see him as a F/C who would be rotational big man. He has a strong body and good passing skills for a big. Unfortunately, Knicks are still short upfront with no legitimate starting PF and could use more center depth.

I'm not sure OQuinn is starting material. He should be back up center.

I'm pretty sure phials plan is to start Porzingis even if he only plays around 20 min a game... Otherwise Phil wouldn't have asked Monroe or LMA to play center ... Zing is our starting PF

Quinn's game better suited at 5 though he may play some 4 given certain matchupsso see him coming off bench with Williams starting next to Melo and defending threes. Id be surprised if DW plays more than 25 mins. Quinn problably 20ish

Sounds about right, think Calderon will start. Lopez, Quinn, Williams, Kristaps, Melo, Thomas, Affalo, Calderon, Grant ,Galloway are givens as would be Shved if resigned. Rest of roster will sort itself out.
