I still think he's a pretty good post scorer, mid-range shooter and tremendous passer, which we'll need in this offense. Yes, he's also a terrible defender but all role players have trade-offs. I would've preferred Brandon Bass for our remaining cap space before netting Derrick Williams (who I love) at such a high price but Carlos Boozer would be a very good alternative to Bass.

So Jose Calderon at $7 million is somehow better than former all-star Carlos Boozer, off the bench at the league minimum?

Carlos can probably still bring it - but with our roster, I'd rather try to find gold in the NBDL or a college kid who went undrafted.

Why can't you do both? It's not like Carlos Boozer couldn't be waived if necessary.

I'd love to take a look at JyMachel Green who reminds me a lot of Robert Covington and Earl Clark. Hell, we should even take a look at Earl Clark. I still don't understand how that man doesn't have a job.

Boozer can likely get more money than the minimum and play for a contender needing big man depth. Doubtful the Knicks could get at such a rock bottom price and in their situation.

But if they could, he's a pure PF. Meaning his minutes will eat into Zingers. Boozer is a good enough player to make a case for, no matter his salary, that he should be starting on the Knicks. ( I think that's a fair argument on his part and his agents, it's not like the Knicks are ripe with talent at the moment)

He's got better options, even if he didn't, it's still a complicated fit.

I am more along your line of thinking when it comes to Boozer's contract. He's definitely worth more than the minimum but I opted for that amount for this thread because I thought it'd give us an opportunity to better focus on the merits of his talent. For whatever reason, Boozer is one of the more polarizing athletes in the league so I couldn't defend the contract and his talent at the dame time.

As for Porzingis, he's already banged up and already a year away from being physically ready for the rigors of a NBA season. It's my opinion that both parties would be better served bringing him along slowly. I think Boozer would be a nice stopgap until he's physically ready to assume that responsibility. Even with Boozer though, I could see him getting some decent time. Who does he really have ahead of him on the depth charts? Derrick Williams? Boozer? I'm sure there is 15mpg he could find there.

I doubt he would sign for vet min. If. He did than sure I'd take him. He is more productive than brand, Perkins or Caron and brings some veteran leadership.

He was a FA? Him for the vet min or like 1 million would have been a much better signing than Dwill. Even though he is a poor defender, he is a reliable scorer off the bench, decent efficency, and is a good passer, very good rebounder and leader. All traits that Williams dosen't posses(aside from scoring...kinda)

boozer is a bum
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Except the other bum puts up excedingly better numbers than the latter..

i prefer bums that have potential compared to ones that can never be worked into shape

Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

I'd rather have Boozer at $3M than Derrick Williams at $5M. Williams reminds me of March Collins. He had a few decent games at the of the season and now people are convinced he can play.

The latter bum has been in the league for almost 3 yesrs, is softer than your childhood teddy bear, and hasn't displayed any decent skill at an Nba level.
