"24-year old PG/SG averaged career highs in every major statistical category: points, rebounds, steals, blocks, assists and minutes. Explosive first step, excellent ball handling skills and the physical gifts to become a good defender, he is a versatile, exciting young talent. The knock on Crawford is his FG%, which comes in at a sub .400 clip; however, his FG% has dropped tremendously from his rookie year when he shot a respectable .448, so I attribute this nosedive to the astronomical increase in shots attempted per game (more than double, from 8.1 to 16.5). The lack of veteran leadership in Chicago and the Bulls laissez-faire style of play are partly to blame for this, but if his talent can be harnessed and focused in a strong system, Crawford should flourish into one of the great young stars in the league. Jason Terry, of the Atlanta Hawks (a fellow Seattle native), once called him the quickest player in the league not named Allen Iverson."
Interesting clip on the shooting percentage. I just can't wait to see if they can acquire him and how he'll do.

Both Crawford and Marbury would do a lot better if the Knicks could acquire a player who commands a double team in the low box because it would open up the floor for them.

i personally think crawford can possibly develop into a great defender but vs another pg not all the SGs are the league. He would be slightly undersized vs SGs.

One thing at a time. Rebuilding takes YEARS, not weeks

I really like Keon Clark, and I think he'll come for less than the MLE, something around what McDyess signed, but shorter term. He's 29, and has had a few VERY good seasons in the NBA.
He couldn't get off the bench in Sacramento, then didn't do much with utah or Phoenix. In 01-02 with Toronto he shot 49% from the field, averaged 11 points, 7 rebounds, 1.8 blocks in only 27 minutes per game, and in 00-01 he blocked a whopping 2.39 shots per game in only 21 minutes per game.
He's 6'11" and would be a perfect backup center playing around 20 minutes per game. A few years ago when he was a FA he considered the Knicks but went to Sacramento. 3 years, $15 million, with a player option at the end for a fourth year? I think he signs for that.

they are talking about including chris jeffries in the deal. who is this kid?
In college he was basically a defensive stopper...like a true lockdown guy. He's a pure SF like 6-8 215. I don't think he's been as good on defense in the pros and he can't really score consistently. IMO, he'd be waived so Ariza could have his spot.

Keon was wooed by Laydog 2 years ago. He does not want to play in a big city. We are very large.
