It's obvious from the draft and free agency, many GM's still place high value on bigs. As we are seeing, below top tier guys are getting some large contracts. Can see why Phil found it hard
To pass on 7'3 guy who can shoot and move. Can't wAit till summer league to see KP play. Hope we can pick Up a couple more chemistry pieces and resign some role players from last year.

I think that Phil thought KrisP was the best guy available. I think he would've signed Stein if he were worried about the premium of bigs this free agency.

We also saw the league puts a premium on point guards at the trade deadline.

Point guards and bigs are always going to be the most highly sought after and paid.

Mosgov's 28PT outburst gave you an indication of what even an average big with a few moves in the post can do against a small lineup.

The problem is that few big men in the NBA have the kind of quality moves in the post that would punish a team like GS for going as small as they did.

Should be interesting to see how Towns and OK4 play on the offensive end when they face GS.

KP has some post up moves, and I've seen him exploit a guard or small forward in the paint, but that is not his strength at this point, and is something he really has to work on.

First of all, he's not 7'3. He's being listed as no taller than 7'1 by almost every source.

He's not a PF/C type. He's a stretch 4 who could probably play SF better than C. He is going to be a putrid post defender for at least the first few years. If Phil wanted a true big man who could help the team now, he should have picked Willie "Trill" Cauley-Stein.

He's gonna play like Bargnani. He's not Dirk.

I'd be happier if he modeled his game on AK47 than Dirk

He was measured in Las Vegas- 7'1.25" w/o shoes...means he is about 7'3" with shoes and socks on.

Actually he really is 7"3". He was measured with only socks at 7"1.25" at the combine. With sneakers he is 7"3". A lot of the reports are wrong. I saw one that listed him at 7"0". Uninformed people. He is a freak. Embrace his unique abilities. Knicks are officially reporting him at 7'3" also. He also could still be growing.

Be patient let him learn the post. In two years he'll be 7-3 260ans impossible to deal with in the post. It's pretty simple we must be patient and dedicated to kp

I don't want him to put on too much weight, so that he can maintain his mobility. Soon he will be impossible to deal with anywhere he is on the court.

Second of all, Does he play bear foot?

Regardless of position your saying he is not a big? And your saying he would probably play SF but
concerned he will be a bad post defender? If he plays SF he wont be guarding big post up guys. As for Stein, we shall see. A 9 and 6 guy as a Junior is hard to be thought of as more than a role player. Good size and athleticism though. But not a Knick. So I'll root for KP to kick his arse. And think he adds to my point as a guy who got more interest due to size. Was mainly mentioning this as it seemed strange that the narrative, once Warriors won, was that bigs were no longer a premium. And Phil got a lot of flack for pick.
