Duncan says he's playing next year, so look at their salaries and tell me how they get LMA after giving Green that money

Even after dumping Splitter?

I'm still holding out hope for LMA eve though I never wanted him. Sure beats Robin Lopez

He hasn't chosen yet - sounds like the Suns are definitely in it and think they have a shot.

This is such a strange situation. Hard to make up for a bad 1st impression. Still the fact that he's going to the Lakers again says something about his not having made up his mind one way or the other. It's really crazy. Thing is that the Lakers situation isn't that much different than the Knicks. Except at least we have Melo he can run with for a few years. Kobe is not going to be around past this year.

Please. That's not really a big deal. Not to a vet. He already played with a great young PG.

they could still have the 6m MLE and use on it on him or Ginobili
At this point, Duncan will play on a HUGE discount, take a back seat role, that is the Spur's MOTTO, and taking a backseat role was Robinson did for him
Now he will return the favor for the Spurs and do it for LMA

Would not be surprised if Duncan signs for a vet min deal, possibly 2year vet min (as he retires his 2nd year but gets paid for it, it is a loophole)
Same for Manu and he has already declined much and this is likely his final year with Duncan for ONE last shot

Danny Green could have earned more than that but The Spur's and Poppavich's staff helped him developed to the player he is today, that is what The Spurs do, they build a family, with HIGH IQ players, with HIGH work ethic, and put the team and wins ABOVE all, something Poppavich and his veterans always did for over a decade

Then they still have the qualifing offer for Cory Joseph (the only young guy they kept offered the QO to, as they look to extended him and could get the FULL MLE in the process, depending on LMA who they traded Splitter in order to keep Green, Kawaii, Parker (was hurt and wasn't the same), Patty Mills (healthy)
Along with Boris Diaw, his "rook" Kyle Anderson, Reggie Williams, and THE MLE to target players

Parker/Mills/Joseph
Green/Manu/Mills/Joseph
Kawaii/Reggie Williams/Kyle Anderson
LMA or Gasol or Jordan/ MLE?? West??? Bonner likely
Tim Duncan/ Diaw

3 roster spots, not including Bonner who they will likely bring back, and not sure if they could fit in Maro Bellinli or Jeff Ayres
And if Duncan and Manu will take MUCH LESS than the MLE, possibly vet min, as they are a team that uses DEPTH to get through the season
Even if Parker is no longer the same player, which is possible, they at least have Mills healthy who had surgery last season, in addition to Corey Joseph ready to contribute
How and who they use the MLE on with David West already saying he wants to play for The Spurs or a LEGIT contender even making much less than his 12.5m that he opted out of with Larry Birds statements rubbing him the wrong way about Hibbert....

So David West would likely consider joining them for the FULL MLE, and Spur's likely already has some European players/D League players that they are looking at already
Probably keep Matt Bonner for the vet min, along with Jeff Ayres if he doesn't GET more than the vet min...

However, I question if all these players this past decade would have done so, if they did have STATE TAX it Texas, while Texas and Florida teams can both offer players more money and always seem to get steals and keep a core together...

Dude. It's a big deal. It's D'Angelo Russell. There's a reason he went second overall.

People here have no concept of how valuable Okafor/Russell/Towns are compared to what we got.
