http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1395846#start_here I scoured the internet and find as many direct quotes from relevant basketball people on our boy Kristaps Porzingis as possible. I wanted direct quotes so there was no writer bias/interpretation in play, and pre-draft timeframe so no one was using his selection by the Knicks as a reason to change their answer more positively/negatively after the fact. Just actual words from actual people before anyone actually knew who would draft him. Here's what I found, hope you enjoy it:

![]() this pic says so much about Phil's regime here. Think this is a CAA pick? Think this is the move from a GM who's here to collect a couple checks and bolt next year?
All I care about is keeping this kid healthy and on the floor. Get him out there for 20 mpg with a simplied scoring role. He can score and shoot it.. just dont rush him physically. Speed and athleticism before strength. Hard not to like everything you read about his kid. "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

![]() It would be interesting if KP plays some SF with his mobility/length and shooting ability this year
He could be the HELP DEFENDER or used as lock down defender vs some match ups/2nd units as well to help REBOUND/CHEAT and still be able to recover/contest shots while cheating at times... |

Bigs touch the ball a lot and they have to make basic passes. There are lots of opps for big to big passes in this offense. I'm not really concerned with his passing based on his Euro stats. Look at what Bynum and Pau did for better reference. Imagine this kid in the high post. At 7-2 he'll shot right over you. Come out and get him and he has the handle to move or he'll get fouled. Bargs has this ability. In time he'll be able to play the low post and be the monster. Look at Kukoc |

![]() Since we're going with Quotes about KP, we need to round out the view of him, and include our very own, BRIGGS:
Porzingis already hurt The Brilliant, but brittle career of Porgingis - not even able to make it to summer league after being drafted! Oh MY! |

![]() It's not about Bargs specifically but rather the role he was playing in the offense. KP can do all of the things we saw Bargs doing and more. Bargs isn't a player stuck in the low post. He moves around and can be effective from anywhere on the floor. KP will likely do the same thing. He'll move around, catch and shoot, High Post, PnR, flash to the basket. He should be able to do a lot even in his rookie year just by being mobile and using his jumper and scoring at the basket on cuts.
