A first step at reconciliation? Or just a coincidence that they will be working in the Knicks facility at the same time?

The skeptic and cynic in me wishes that he had turned around as said something directly to the camera, perhaps with a smile, but then he was probably about vomit because of all the celebrity hunting slime that converged around him and his wife.

Thank goodness my days as a celebrity are over now.

The workouts will hopefully be a time for Anthony to talk with him.

Anthony did not look overweight, by the way- which is a good thing.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Carmelo said he likes the guy, so this thread won't get any traction. But why even believe him anyways? It's way more believable when Isola says his sources tell him the opposite. everyone was up in arms saying "trade melo, who is he to talk", etc. So where is the comments about how he is saying all the right things, improving as a leader, etc? Or does everyone just honestly not believe him? Knicks fans are funny people.

What I expected, a public showing of support from Melo would come next... but I didn't hear him say he loves Porzingis in this clip.

Even if the reports were true, all they seemed to be based hearsay of an initial reaction devoid of context, i.e. how many drinks in was Melo out there in Vegas.

From the couple of clips/interviews of Porzingis, he seems to have the non-basketball stuff needed for NYC: good support from his brother, maturity as a 4-year pro, positivity and enthusiam... and I think Clyde will love this guy's fashion sense. His draft day jacket has a Latvian flag stitched inside.

I think Melo will be impressed with the kid.

In the end it's just background noise at this point. No trade demands followed the rumors so it's much ado about nothing!!! Melo and KP workout and bond, maybe a photo op and all is well. We've got FA a day away so this is going to be a dead story.

It was never a story to begin with. It was just an attempt for Daily News hits because they knew fans would run with it.

Broussard stated on the radio for Lupica that Melo was at the Porzingis workout and was in constant contact with the Knicks in the build up to the draft as well as during the draft and was well aware of the Knicks fondness of Porzingis. Broussard stated the they were shocked with the SAS rant on how Melo hated the pick and it was news to them that Melo didn't want them to draft Porzingis as again Melo was well aware of the interest and had no problem with the pick.

Nah, why would anyone believe the words coming out of Melo's mouth or off his keyboard when Isola, Sreamin A and these so called people around Melo feed into the I Hate Melo agenda?

See this is what slipped through the cracks before the draft but no one really mentioned it. As soon as the pick was made I remembered the report and was laughing because Melo is not playing the role Billups played with Darko. Except Kristaps was a more heavily scouted player and project much better.

notice where melo was coming from...Los angeles for the BET music awards. lol. he (and mainly his wife) is about that hollywood life man. lol basketball is merely a stepping stone.

in regards to KP, im sure that was overblown and theres no actual beef.

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Melo is dedicated to the game and I don't think having other interests is a bad thing. He has put in work after his surgery and is back on the court. That's really all I need to know about his dedication. People can do more than just play ball in their off time.

Now he's got work to do in helping the Knicks recruit and hopefully being a mentor to the younger players we drafted.

I think CA wanted Winslow, WCS, maybe even Muddiay, Frank the Tank *in a trade down* players that can CONTRIBUTE right away, with less upside outside of Muddiay to take over the CA show

While signing 2 Starters at PF and Center
He is happy with Galloway/Shved and maybe even Calderon, they are role players looking to create for others submitting to CA, with the 2nd 1st rounder, get either Decker/Bobby Portis, both of which can also contribute now

Along with the 35 pick for a player that can contribute RIGHT now! With Alumni, Rakeem Christmas instead of waiting another season or 2 to bring him over...
These moves would allow them to be better this upcoming season while CA is still young...
ON TOP OF THAT, he SHUT DOWN after the ALL STAR break, and could have got KAT, had FISHER did what he should have done by putting in lineups that would SUCK, instead winning the FINAL GAME, knowing we could have had more ping pong balls......

Where as the 35th pick was used to groom the possible FUTURE of the franchise while there was something that can help now...

So it isn't exactly like CA doesn't have a point
As I am sure both FISHER and Phil Jackson told him this summer was our chance to turn things around and that the NYK's and PHil Jackson would do EVERYTHING with this year's FA's and draft pick to allow CA to contend, while taking a discount to do so, though it wasn't much of a discount, had CA opted in, maybe LA and Jordan would be NYK's, with CA actually taking a discount and having ALL 3 take a discount to be NYK's like Miami did in 2010...

When CA wants to rock, he gets it, and he wants the FINAL SHOT to build his brand and HEROBALL, as the OFFENSE RUNS THROUGH HIM and NOT BUILDING for the future...
There are few players that CA feels that are on his level and that he is willing to take a backseat to, unwilling to play Robin role, with his EGO, and caring more for his status than playing winning basketball

More importantly, he probably feels Phil Jackson's comments about not wanting players that are building brands, worried about shoe contracts, and playing HEROBALL, as a DIRECT KNOCK/CHEAP SHOT at him
Feeling threatened by KP, despite, a no trade clause, realizing Phil Jackson still has leverage on him if he wanted to build for the future and NOT contend starting this year as promised...

SAS has his sources and wouldn't say what he said without CAA or CA's approval...

Why would you say that? The Knicks haven't had cap space since he has been in ny. Someone wrote an article about it today. Tyson, amare and Bargs had the cap space locked up.

In the end Melo is still here and hasn't asked for a trade so... MEH! He's going to be here and we'll get to see how KP and Jerian and the FA's we sign perform together. It should really be exciting to see so many new faces next year. Things will really be new and different with that many new players.

I believe that Melo wasnt thrilled about the pick initially, but I think he understands that its not in his best interests to alienate Porzingis, and by extension Knicks mgmt. I dont care if he was pissed about the pick, as long as he doesnt take it out on Porzingis. I get the feeling they are going to get along well.

I believe Melo knew who the final 3 players were and that KP was one of them. He most likely knew he was the top choice on that list. Why then would Melo have a fit about drafting the kid they told him was at the top of the list??? I just don't believe it. He may have been saying crap to THJ to try and bond with him which then THJ flapped his lips and repeated to someone else. I don't believe Melo felt "bamboozled". That just makes no sense given he was even there during KP's workout and I'm sure Phil and everyone talked after the workout about drafting KP with Melo right there.
