I think CA wanted Winslow, WCS, maybe even Muddiay, Frank the Tank *in a trade down* players that can CONTRIBUTE right away, with less upside outside of Muddiay to take over the CA show
While signing 2 Starters at PF and Center
He is happy with Galloway/Shved and maybe even Calderon, they are role players looking to create for others submitting to CA, with the 2nd 1st rounder, get either Decker/Bobby Portis, both of which can also contribute now
Along with the 35 pick for a player that can contribute RIGHT now! With Alumni, Rakeem Christmas instead of waiting another season or 2 to bring him over...
These moves would allow them to be better this upcoming season while CA is still young...
ON TOP OF THAT, he SHUT DOWN after the ALL STAR break, and could have got KAT, had FISHER did what he should have done by putting in lineups that would SUCK, instead winning the FINAL GAME, knowing we could have had more ping pong balls......
Where as the 35th pick was used to groom the possible FUTURE of the franchise while there was something that can help now...
So it isn't exactly like CA doesn't have a point
As I am sure both FISHER and Phil Jackson told him this summer was our chance to turn things around and that the NYK's and PHil Jackson would do EVERYTHING with this year's FA's and draft pick to allow CA to contend, while taking a discount to do so, though it wasn't much of a discount, had CA opted in, maybe LA and Jordan would be NYK's, with CA actually taking a discount and having ALL 3 take a discount to be NYK's like Miami did in 2010...
When CA wants to rock, he gets it, and he wants the FINAL SHOT to build his brand and HEROBALL, as the OFFENSE RUNS THROUGH HIM and NOT BUILDING for the future...
There are few players that CA feels that are on his level and that he is willing to take a backseat to, unwilling to play Robin role, with his EGO, and caring more for his status than playing winning basketball
More importantly, he probably feels Phil Jackson's comments about not wanting players that are building brands, worried about shoe contracts, and playing HEROBALL, as a DIRECT KNOCK/CHEAP SHOT at him
Feeling threatened by KP, despite, a no trade clause, realizing Phil Jackson still has leverage on him if he wanted to build for the future and NOT contend starting this year as promised...
SAS has his sources and wouldn't say what he said without CAA or CA's approval...
