He was actually acting like some of the folks around here, and times.
Jackson said on ESPN it might take 5 years to determine whether he was the proper pick.
What I don't like when a professional listens, but clearly does not understand what a person says.
Jackson was asked by Broussard about how some said in 10 years Porzingis might be recognized as the best pick in the draft. Phil then answered something to the effect of "we'd like to think this will be the case," and then went on to say that you would probably know this type of thing in about 5 years.
He did not say that it would take 5 years to determine whether he was the proper pick, because the question was about whether he would be seen as the BEST pick in the 10 years.
This I find to be more than unprofessional, just like the writer who had him at 195 lbs in the paper, or the radio hosts who also get his weight wrong. This is the type of thing that the folks who never took the time to research Porzingus then take as gospel when they have their arguments...the ones where they conveniently forget that they want a guy like Mudiay, because they somehow know about him, even though he's played a total of about 12 games since he left HS.
This is the type of thing you expect from one of us, not a professional journalist.
EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?
