Why give up much if anything from pick 5 on unless trading back to get more? There are odds any player could fall to you so why pay up?

Lets take pick 4 any one of Hezonja Porzingis Mudiay Winslow could go there or all could go 8 right? In some possibilities some of those players MIGHT even go lower???

So where is the value of trading up from 8 or 7???

Who will pay a premium for the Knicks pick--it seems like the value dropped right under the market. I dont see the value there and its hard for the Knicks to move back unless there is a premium

RIP Crushalot😞

It's a much tougher trade market than I thought it would be. Still there are some deals to be made involving active players I think. We may yet see a trade depending on what happens with the top 3.

If you don't see it, then it does not exist.

Why trade up? Cuz if your a GM and you want someone more than someone else and you have the resolve, then you do it.
Maybe Orlando really thinks the world of the Zinger and makes it worth our while to move down. Say we are on the fence, this might tip the directio we go.

Just an example. Remember Vince Carter and Jamimson got traded? Webber and Rashweed Wallace? Someone valued one more than the other at that moment.

As you know, time will tell who was right.

There is no good offers to trade down IMO. Unless you are getting another first rounder AND a good nba player there is no point

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

The only way I trade down is if they can get a top 14 pick and a young NBA player who could potentially be a starter.

Otherwise, they are trading one quarter for two dimes. In the NBA even if you trade one quarter for three dimes, you usually lose the deal.

The Knicks need elite talent. Their best hope at elite talent is to take the 4th best player in the NBA draft, not hope some random assemblage of later picks winds up knowing how to play the Triangle.

I agree, Make the selection and move on.

If you can trade a THjr for a late first, early second - or something like that- great.

I want to move on as well, however, with the cap expoiding, there is a chance that we can get a 1st rounder if we can acquire post presence and he is healthy enough and doesn't shoot bad shots as the 4th/5th option

However, if we can get 2 early 2nd rounders in this draft or 1 early and 1 mid, I might do it since this is a strong draft class and clears salary
Though not sure his trade value is any good thus far, maybe Kerr would take him for pick 30

The one trade market is if someone is convinced that Porzingis or Hezonja is a superstar and that he will be grabbed early, so another team might want to leapfrog to grab him. That would be the only way, in my opinion.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Let me ask you guys -- say it's either Porzingis or Mudiay at 4 for argument's sake. Who between those two are we more apt to keep/more inclined to trade? I think Zinger would be the keeper; if we select Mudiay, don't get too attached--I'd feel the odds for a trade soon after would go up if we took Mudiay. Anyone else feel that way?

I agree. It sounds like Denver really wants Mudiay and Windhorst just said they might move their pick and another first rounder.

What about PHX? Who do you think they would prefer -- Porzingis or Mudiay?

I don't want his contract. I like the Denver trade better if the knicks are moving the pick. Seeing Porzingis tower over the other bigs makes me think he might be the pick.

I guess so, but they traded for Knight -- seems like they finally have their PG situation straighten out -- then you turn around and trade for another starting caliber PG? Whoever winds up with Mudiay--you figure they'd wanna groom him as the starting PG from day 1, no? Not to be an understudy to a star at that position who's already established...I dunno, maybe...I understand trading away Bledsoe to a team that has cap space sheds a lot of salary that could then be used for FAs but there's gotta be more to it than that. I mean to trade away Bledsoe, an already established all-star caliber PG only to bring in Mudiay who may never even be as good is strange, no? I agree--I think Denver wants Mudiay but PHX, I'm not so sure. Harder to read who they might want us to pick for them..Who knows, maybe they'd really want us to select Winslow at 4...Or is that rumored trade with us only on the table if someone like Okafor or Russell slips to 4?
