The first thing to learn about free agents and draft prospects is that they all want to play in New York, or at least that’s what they all say. This crop is no different. But there’s a new wrinkle to playing for the Knicks, and the top prospects for Thursday’s draft all believe they can thrive in Phil Jackson’s beloved triangle offense — as long as they can understand what it actually is.
“It’s still rocket science to me,” Ohio State guard D’Angelo Russell said on Wednesday.
I feel most FA and draftees feel the same way, while the respect the hell out of phil and his accomplishments, learning the triangle is going to be extremely difficult.
I think phil will hesitate on these type of players, and that is not good, because now your not thinking about taking the BPA, your thinking about best fit.
keep in mind it's not phil and tex winters
, it's fisher and rambis
