IMO,
I really do not think Russell and Mudiay's potential are much different
It will similiar of how Deron Williams vs CP3 were constantly battling for the TITLE OF BEST PG when they were drafted and after for a couple of years
They both have different strenght and weaknesss's but they both have high ceilings and I do believe that both could be BUSTS and could develop to FRANCHISE talents as well
To me Russell has that arrogence and premedonna/drama I do not want as a ROOKIE, while Mudiay seems to have the willingness to want to improve and wants to create for others as a TRUE BIG PG
Shooting is a skill that Mudiay can learn, while his physical body/strength can not be taught, he needs to work on his quickness and speed and will take time but I think he will reach it if you allow him to make the mistakes and learn from it like Wall did
I do believe that Russell could be a bust if he goes in to a wrong situation, like if JR Smith is his mentor in NYC
Prior to "traditional PG's, Deron WIlliams was once cosidered a BIG PG that could score and facilitate prior to him hitting his 30's"
Till Physical beasts like Westbrook, Derrick Rose, John Wall,
While Mudiay could have the physical abilities to make him a DEFENSIVE TOP TIER DEFENDER that Westbrook has gotten away from despite his ability to be a lock down defender, though last year he was force to do so late in the season with injuries
Assuming the consesious TOP 3
If we stay at 4, I hope we acquire Mudiay or KP
What all these rooks must understand is, The NBA is a 82 long game season, and after that the playoffs is when it really counts and when the game changes with adjustments, effort, schemes
If lucky, by year 2-3, they will unfold their true talent if they WORK HARD to develop their skills and body, stay confidence, hungry
Steph Curry and Lebron James PUTS A LOT OF WORK in their craft, taking practice/training very seriously, and it pays off
It can NOT STOP, you have to want to improve on both strengths and weakness's, and even in weight room and films
Physical talent is great but if you add in HIGH IQ, WORK ETHIC, ability to communicate with others, it has a multiple affect/effect and if you get multiple talents like OKC did, it shows
Nick Collison *WORK ETHIC played a role*
Durant
Westbrook
Harden
Ibaka
Reggie Jackson
Jeff Green *after he left OKC, not being with those guys, that was the difference in his improvement in reaching his ceiling along with his setback with his heart surgery*
