The knicks should have the first overall pick. All they had to was lose the final 3 games like they did all year. Adding towns or okafor would have made things much more easier

actually Im going to add some substance here.

Had the Knicks done what they SHOULD have and simply played Jason Smith, Cole, Wear, Acy and Bargs (at PG) for 48 minutes each this would be a non topic. Actually Im pretty sure Bargs would have dropped 45/10 and Knicks would still win.

Or

Knicks finish with worse record and still pick 4th

If you finish with the WORST record you will pick 1-4. The slot with the greatest statistical possibility is 4th at 36%

So please... pretty please with sugar on top. Stop hurting yourselves and move along.

And if you need to assign blame, if that is a core need for you? Blame Timmy JR, who sucked Isiah's balls all year only to shoot us to a pair of meaningless wins which you guys blame Fisher for. I guess he should have pulled him right?

well i was actually being half sarcastic to begin with. Everyone knows about the lottery system but there was still no point to try and win the final games but such is life. So again relax fish

Nah, he's right man. I feel the same way -- don't feel like we put our best foot forward to ensure the best possible outcome for the draft. Just a fact.. I'm not saying you coach to lose games, you tell your players to throw games etc. but there was a way to ensure we finished it off the proper way after such a lousy season and we didn't. Maybe Phil never bothered to get that message across to Derek, maybe he thought Derek wouldn't have went for it, maybe he did manage to mention something to Derek and he did have a problem with it...Who the hell knows man...I know this: to win those games and watch THJ celebrate the way he did was EXCUCIATING to behold to say the least. I agree--watching the first couple of picks go down and then be left to make tough decisions after Towns, Okafor and Russell are most likely off the board....it's gonna be tough. No question about that. What are ya gonna do? Hopefully we did our homework and either keep the pick and draft the player that's right for us or package whoever we select in a trade that benefits us. Tough situation to swallow but it is what it is. Hopefully we finally get some luck on our side and make the best of the situation. About time something works out for us. We've suffered enough!

Yeah, I feel ya bro. What could've been, right? Very tough to swallow looking back on the end of the season and how those couple of wins could've made a difference for us.

We beat the Spurs and the Hawks down the stretch. Even at full effort to win that shouldn't have happen. There is no way to account for the Spurs and Hawks mailing it in as that wasn't apart of there DNA all season.

First of, the team with the worst record has the biggest chance of getting the #1 pick. Fishmike, I don't understand what you are saying about the 36% and what not. It's not up to a debate, that's a mathematical fact.
Second, THJR is an idiot. Or a selfish prick who put himself before the team. Or maybe he did it out of spite. Anyway, whether his actions which caused us to win at the end were predicament end or not, the result was that we lost the most important thing that we had been working all year for, the lottery %ages. He won the battle but lost the 2014/2015 war. I don't like him for that. Those last three games were the exception to winning everytime you can.

They were resting their starters for the playoffs, like the Spurs do every year. And perhaps playing down to the competition

aside from towns... which we're gonna end up regretting those two wins just for that... we didn't really miss much...

russell, winslow and okafor are roughly about the same.... of course being further down in the draft makes us susceptible to going a bit crazy with the pick but as long as we get one of those guys we should be fine...

thats fair. Im just scared we are gonna trade for a injury prone player or reach for a quote unquote mature player like stein or kaminsky

i'm scared too... like terrified.... but more about who we're gonna pick...

this whole year has been fun as a fan.. i always felt bottoming out.. like we did this season... was the best time to be a fan.. because you have a lot of hope that things will be better... and then when things actually get better it's that more rewarding...

i think we've all gone through enough as knicks fan and we're ready to reap some good fortune... hopefully that starts tomorrow...

They rest there starters throughout the yr and still win 50-60 games per yr (Spurs). Hawks played there starters. They just didn't try and mailed it in.
