Justin Andersen is going to go 16-23 so he'll be gone. Powell is a top 5 NBA caliber perimeter defender in this draft YET is one of the ONLY prospects that can truly finish at the rim. Honestly Id rather have Powell at # 34 for instance that Winslow at #4. I dont think the size difference is that much(5 pounds and an inch) to justify that enormous gap. We need a transition player who can penetrate with size badly. This guy is hidden--not a great shooter but he is ALL NBA everywhere else. Both of my picks Atkins and Powell would make a SIGNIFICANT defensive presence on the Knicks second unit. In fact in some ways I can see where some people might like Powell over Andersen. While Andersen looks like a TOp nothc high caliber 3-d---Powell has upside of something of a hybrid Monta Ellis with much more size YET also has the Tony Allen type D.

I dont know--I mean Christmas is an athletic 6-10 and look at the development of his jumpshot which he used successfully in game at Chicago.

Good call on Connaughton. Totally forget about him.

Was watching him this morning on a rerun of a 5 on 5 they were running at the Combine. Money stroke from deep, drove and finished with a nice tear drop and I like the surprising toughness and athleticism. My two guys would be Joe Young (another guy who impressed me in the same Combine 5 on 5) and Connaughton -- you figure we have a good chance to get a good frontcourt upgrade in the draft (unless we get lucky and Russell falls into our laps at 4) and a few more in FA. Joe Young and Pat Connaughton are 2 backcourt upgrades I'd love to target in the 2nd round using cash and the few available assets we have on hand.

I like Rakeem Christmas a lot, but I agree he's a late first rounder... who knows though. He is 23yr old, which could cause him to drop a little. DX has him at 36 in their mock right now.

I'm not convinced the Knicks will be able to buy a second round pick, but we'll see.

If Dakari Johnson is around in the second round, I'd be curious about him.

Also, Phil supposedly likes Andrew Harrison.

That might be true.....but every year there are players that are 1st round quality going early 2nd.....the big euro move will push quality players into the 2nd round.

There will be teams like the spurs who picks their player and stash them overseas.
