In 2008 Jarryd Bayless was projected to go in the top 3 or 4. I remember watching him drop on the board as the Knicks pick came up at 8, and they selected Gallinari. At the time, I thought it was a mistake not to pick the "BPA" according to the Mock Drafts. He dropped to 11 and in retrospect, didn't even deserve to be picked there, with a number of Better players still available (again with hindsight): Robin Lopez, Hibbert, Ibaka, Batum, George Hill, etc.
(Similar thing happened with Macje Lampe, who I remember seeing as high as #5 in Mock Drafts).

Who is going to be this year's Bayless? Who will unexpectedly fall out of the top of the mock drafts lottery, and deservedly so?

We were at 6 in that draft.

Don't have any thoughts on a player at this point, but lets face it, there are as many draft boards as there are teams, and unless somebody can do a St. Louis hack into another teams scouting database, we just don't know who will pick who.

Whether or not you feel a certain way about him, he won't get past 5. Orlando had an agreement with him last year, I think they would have taken him with the 12th pick, the one they traded away. No front office changes in Orlando- they still like him. If we don't, I hope Jackson can get a trade with Orlando.

I think Mudiay could slip if the Knicks don't select - he hasn't worked out for a lot of teams outside of the top 4 - I haven't seen a report of him working out for anyone outside LA, Philly and NYK.

There's no tape on Mudiay - if you haven't seen him in a workout... you're taking a huge gamble. Teams past the top 5 will already have their guys picked out and if Mudiay slips to them, may not be prepared to give up on their guy for a sort of question mark. Then again, I can't see Sacramento or Denver passing on Mudiay, so maybe not.

Danny Granger was slated to go 5 in his draft in 2005 - then the teams that had worked him out passed on him and there was rumor of a medical issue. So he fell to 17 and was great value there.

I think it might be Mudiay. I think Kristaps, Hezonja, Stein and Winslow will be in a group with him and he could drop from 4 to 8 or 9.
I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

Me too. Not sure it's likely, but I could see it happening.

Orlando is gonna trade up to the 3 spot with Philly for Porzingis. You heard it here first.

Not if Russell is still on the board, but I definitely can see it.

What would Philly get back, though. Don't they already have a bunch of picks in the upcoming drafts?
