Here's what I've been thinking lately as far as narrowing down our major moves:
(1a) Draft Russell, resign Shved, sign Greg Monroe, Alexis Ajinca, Lavoy Allen
--OR--
(1b) Draft Okafor, resign Shved, sign Cory Joseph, Alexis Ajinca, Lavoy Allen + maybe another impact player as Joseph wouldn't cost as much as Monroe.
Those are the 2 top choices I think we'd all be very happy with. The 2 best case scenarios imho.
-----------------------------------------------------------
After that, ya figure it's gotta be either:
(2) Draft Porzingis + sign Monroe/Ajinca/Allen to ensure the frontcourt upgrade (Zinger may take some time to fill out and develop--this way, we'll have some good frontcourt enhancements in place), resign Shved, and look elsewhere for some additional PG help
--OR--
(3) Trade down for Myles Turner/Frank Kaminsky (they seem to like this PG Cameron Payne -- I prefer Turner or Kaminsky in a "trade down" scenario in the 7-10 range over Payne myself) and hope to pick up another asset or two (a Ty Lawson, another draft pick or 2 in this deep draft or a 2016 1st rounder)... Choice 3 may be the way to go over 2 -- a guy like Turner or Kaminsky isn't that far off from Porzingis talent-wise if at all and each looks to be more NBA-ready + we hopefully pick up another asset or 2 going this route anyway.
Add to any of these choices the following: the few key returning players (Galloway, THJ, Early -- who could all be traded in the right scenario as far as I'm concerned--they're all fully replaceable), hopefully at least 1 low 1st/high 2nd round pick we can acquire with cash and/or some of the few assets we have on hand, plus a handful of talented DL players I'm interested in to round it out (resign Ledo, bring in guys like Jerrelle Benimon, Khem Birch, Jordan Bachynski, Rich Howell, Scotty Hopson, Eric Griffin, etc.). Any of these 4 scenarios should ensure a much better team (or the makings of one at least), one worth watching and one with a future even if Melo ever went down or starts to decline.
