Throw out everything else. If Porzingis goes 3 one of Okafor or Russell is at 4. Everything else is noise.

Haven't we already talked about this same thing in 10 other threads??

I really don't think Porzingis is going top 3. I don't see it. I mean, really?!? I would be ecstatic if he did go top 3, I mean, I would be overcome with joy.

But I just don't see it.

If KrisP does go top 3 it would really make this one of the most insane Knicks drafts in history. Being able to choose between Russell and Okafor or some kind of massive deal. There are so many possibilities of that happens.

That's the reason you know it's not happening..Think about it, we were trying to win games at the end of the season..

Well even if it doesn't the Knicks are still in a great position to add a very nice talent. This is a strong draft IMO. Some feared the Knicks would be shut out, but that was just panic setting in. #4 in this draft is still a very good spot.

It's not the best given that we had the worst record for most of the year...We fell to the worst spot possible for the given record..Our coach was on the podium talking about tryig to win all games possible..It's just not how things works for us(Knicks).

Come on man, this is just some self hating Knicks fan talk. The lottery is not automatic and most years it's been pretty much a lock that the worst record didn't get the top pick. I the end we didn't fall to #5. We can do a lot with #4. There will be offers made and Phil will have to weight his options. Just gotta wait and see how things transpire on draft night.

nix its ok to be critical of the knicks. I have come to accept you are the ultimate optimist but we cant just think everything will go our way. As much as i like phil he hasnt exactly been great on moves, he has ALOT of work to do. By the way i have faith for better or worse

Philly bloggers are speculating that Okafor goes to the lakers and they either get Porzingis or Russell. If Porzingis is there for the Knicks would Phil take him?

Yup. You have no control over those ping pong balls.

As has been mentioned before, they had to pick twice for #3, because Minnesota was picked first for that position, too.

Does not seem fair, and it really is not from a human perspective, but the odds were never 100%, no matter where you were picking from, and both LA and Philly fans were probably crying before the lottery that they were not in our position of having the 2nd highest number of balls.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Phil will probably get destroyed if he makes that pick...If you pick him you are in full rebuild...He is quite a few years away and you don't have a 2016 first round pick or any good prospect on the roster..The Melo resigning will be essentially mute...Press would destroy him...

If he doesn't get one of the big three he is going to get killed anyway unless he trades back. If Kristaps is the bpa he should take him.

Even if he thinks he is the BPA, he might not take him and go for a guy more ready to help now.

This is the real issue, and really goes to the meaning of what the "BPA" means.

Hofresh is right about the uproar Phil will face if he takes him, even if he is the BPA when we pick.

If Porzingis is great and we don't get him when we could have had him, I really hope he goes to a WC team- don't want to have him rubbed in my bloody face all the time.

I think he might be the real deal and I think his learning curve might not be as steep as some suggest. The article that Smackeddog posted just makes me think he is the guy at 4 if he is there. The kid is 7"1' and very skilled at 19. That doesn't come around very often.

For all the hoopla Porzingis is getting as flavor of the week, the odds are much better he will be a solid forward than "Dirk 2.0". Think Montenjunas, Valanciunus, etc. And I know the styles of play are
Not the same. I'm not trying to say that's equivalent. I mean that they are solid all around decent players who are cool to have on your team but in no way world beaters. I just don't see it with Porzingis (super star). Though he'll probably be a decent role player/starter. Just my opinion I may be way off and he's the EuroJordan. Right now if I'm Phil I pass at 4.

There is always a gamble when you pick, and that goes for anyone who is picked... and that's not even taking into consideration injury.

For me, at the very least, you should put it out that you are looking very closely at Porzingis if he does drop, because you never know if somebody really wants him.

I'm going with Orlando, which has a history looking at and communicating with him.

Why show any of your cards at this point if you are Jackson?

I am starting to become a Hezonja fan... I have him over Zinger. He's more NBA ready. He might be my #4 if Towns, OK4 and Russell are off the board.
You know I gonna spin wit it
