It's not a rumor.....(say that in your best Arnold voice a la Kindergarden Cop)

Brian Grant is a guy that makes way too much money for the stats he puts up....but he could easily erase alot of guys the Knicks don't need.

Brian Grant for KT, Mutombo, and Moochie works....

I'm looking at a trade like this if Isiah can't get Crawford or someone else via trade.

Miami might take KT and Shandon for Grant

it frees up a roster spot or two, that's a good thing. Getting Shandon out would be a bonus, but as you said, there's better chips out there like Crawford or Walker to go after first.

I don't think Miami would take Anderson for him, and that's the only way I would consider doing it.

I'm with Rich. Knicks lose way too much to get Grant in the first deal (KT, Deke, and Moochie), and I don't think Miami does the second deal.

I'd go for the second deal, definitely not the first. Miami needs a PG after losing Alston, so they might have interest in Norris.

ditto, the second deal is good cause we get a bruiser while getting rid of shandon and freeing up a spot in our roster.

When I thought it up that was what I was looking at....KT and Grant is a wash. The Key is to free up some roster spots. I got a good feeling about Trevor Ariza. The Knicks need to fee up playing time by continuously making 2 for one or 3 for one trades so the Knicks can continue to build from within yet still have the vets to stay compeditive.

That should be the idea.

As we said....this is a trade the Knicks do if nothing else is worth the trouble.

I'm saying Ariza is supposed to have a nice handle and crazy athletisism. That's what Crawford is.....If the Bulls try to jerk the Knicks then lets just role with Ariza and DeMarr.

Like I said fellas I got a good feeling about Trevor Ariza.

I still don't understand why we can't cut shandon to free a roster spot.
I mean, if he's useless, why keep him ? I don't think he can be more usefull at that point than dermarr. ok, maybe he can defend a lil bit better, but what's worth ? I'd rather bank on the future and see dermaar learn instead of shandon put the ball on his foot one more time.

This is why I like the first deal and don't think that Miami goes for it. No matter how much they want to get rid of Grant, they don't want long term contracts back (Moochie, KT).

I wonder if they would do KT, Deke, Harrington, FWill for Grant and Butler.

I agree here. The nets cut Mutombo & ended up having to pay 27mm out of the 37mm he had left on his deal. Mutombo knew he could make up the difference in free agency, which he did with a 2 year MLE from the knicks. Same situation here. The knicks should just bite the bullet and buy Shandon out. They'll have to pay a larger % of his deal, b/c I don't think Shandon's getting more than a 2 year LLE at this point. So, 18mm buyout out of the 21mm he's owed. Is it worth that much to NOT have him on your team? Many on this board think so

the only way i'd trade for Grant is if you were unloading Shandon in the process...if KT were to be included, i'd want a future 1st round pick to boot...otherwise, why bother?

Id take Brian Grant if Caron Butler was attached. Tim Thomas, Trybanski & Williams for Grant & Butler would probably be the only deal both sides might agree on. Miami did draft Dorell Wright who could develop behind Jones & TThomas.

Kurt, Mutombo, Harrington would still be expendable.
