As for the rest of my offseason, I'd use Josh McRoberts as well as the 36th and 40th picks to acquire David Lee and Golden State's 30th. GS will be looking to move Lee in the offseason to soften their luxury tax bill, so I could see them making the deal to do just that and still remain competitive with a capable bench player like Roberts. From our perspective, the deal would give us a starter and a guy who can help us make things interesting post-Melo. The move would effectively leave us with $15 million in cap space.
Using that $15 million in cap space, I'd assume Gerald Wallace's $11 million contract to then acquire Boston's 28th and 33rd picks. The Celtics are going to be looking to get some cap space to make a move for free agents, which makes Wallace and the pick both expendable.
With approximately $4 million in cap space, the 31st and 33rd picks I'd make a deal with the Mavericks to re-acquire Raymond Felton (who I'd waive immediately), Dwight Powell and their 21st pick. Like the Celtics, the Mavs are looking to offload salary and lessen their financial commitments to be players on the free agent market. This trade allows them to do that by dumping guaranteed money in Felton, Powell and a 1st round pick in exchange for 2nd rounders that require no cap holds or structured, guaranteed contracts.
I'd try to make yet another trade with the Bucks to see if I could move up to still select Jerian Grant in the draft. Maybe the 21st, 30th and cash could get us their 17th. As to who I'd draft with the other picks....
1st: Karl Anthony Towns
17th: Jerian Grant
28th: Danilo Fuzaro
29th: Jordan Mickey
*With my $4 million cap exception, I'd sign Alexis Ajinca
