This guy is solid with STAR POTENTIAL on both ends at PF and maybe PF/C
Certainly will need to continue to develop first but if we can get Jermaine Oneil to work with him and mentor him, I like the chances of him reaching his ceiling
He has a good mid range game and SOLID POST GAME, INSIDE the paint, with the ability to run, rebound, fast breaks with finishing or initiating with rebound, block shots/steals

Pairing him with a PF/C that could play in the HIGH POST and shooters to spread the floor would fit well in this system

Does anyone else think here think that he could be a Jermaine Oneil type of talent?
Especially if we can sign JO and Rasheed Wallace to help develop our roster and mentor our young guys, along with Billups/Ron Harper, Pippen/Battier etc..

I think he is closer to Jermaine Oneil than Frank Kaminski is to Dirk
Though I would not have a problem having either player if they fall to 18 *Houston's draft pick that was New Orleans*
We might have to move up in order to grab either talent though, though someone will fall there

Houston already is looking to compete for a title now and want that 3rd STAR that could be CA

Not at 4.

I watched him a lot after Briggs mentioned him in a post.

Have not been able to figure him out, but other than his high release jumper, he does not have a lot of consistency in his game.

I think he is a better defender than some say- I watched that a lot with him and I though he had good lateral movement as a 1/1 defender.

Not sure the Arkansas offense always got him into a great position to score.

For a time I thought he could be a top 10 pick, but 16=20+ seems more likely.

I think he can be very good in the right system, and his midrange shot would be nice in the Triangle. I feel he will also develop an adequate 3p shot in the NBA. I don't feel he is particularly good going to the basket. I think he needs to up his confidence level and his consistency.

It will be interesting to see if the Knicks work him out, and what he's been working on in his pre-tryout training sessions.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

he'd be a great pick up if we could get a second first round pick - and then you could have two players like Mudiay and Portis to start building around.

I love Portis. ..his motor size and skills. He has potential. Just not sure I'd take him at 4 tho
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I watched him a lot. At times he looks like a top 3 pick other times a top 20-25 pick. I think he will be a solid player and he has some upside as a 6-11 250 pd PF but did not like his athletic numbers nor his play against some of the bigger players of the SEC.
