![]() yes folks, im a basketball NBA League pass junkie and a podcast whore. One of my favorite listens is the realgm DuncOn podcast. These two basketball guys post daily podcasts about each playoff game. They tend to talk about analytics but also take the broad view with the eye test.
In this podcast (link posted below), they talk about the draft prospects with one of the guys from draft express. One discussion I found interesting was their talk about Mario Hezonja. They compared him to JR Smith (hold on hold on). They said he has ALL the physical skills to be an all star but the problem is he always thinks hes the best guy in the room. they feel if they go to the right team to nurture him then hell be great in regards to the Mudiay (30:00 mark), theyre REALLY REALLY high on mudiay. theyre like forget melo, build this team around this kid. a pass first Tyreke evans..hmm http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/237963/RealGM-Radio-Sam-Vecenie-on-the-NBA-Draft Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I agree with Mudiay....You can build around him. I just don't think Phil would give Melo that mega contract, just to trade him. Phil is trying to build around Melo, and he will do this over the course of his GM career. That means Mudiay's skills will not be fully utilized (in my opinion). The worse thing we could do with the 4th pick is select somebody, watch him struggle to adapt to the triangle. Then let his rookie contract expire and become an all star in a system that allows him to flourish. Or pick a player with similar potential that can impact in Phils system. Dolan is all in with Phil, Melo and Fisher for the next 4 years. It doesn't makes since to start over every year, based on a draft pick. If Mudiay is that good, Phil will select him and he will do fine. This is just my worry on how the Knicks will not develop him to his potential. Or he takes 3yrs to reach his potential. Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland.
The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!
